I remember the 1st time I heard this guy. I was a janitor at a movie theater and the manager played his 1st cd over the P.A. while I was cleaning one morning back in 2001 or 02. I stopped and went "Wow. Who the hell IS that?!" Singing contemporary songs like a big band crooner. I listen to a variety of music , from the 70's rock I grew up with , 80's pop to gangster rap up to 90's alternative. I bought that 1st cd that day and every one since. Seen him in concert in Austin , Tx a few years ago.

Hi One of the things that is so amazing is that when he was ready to give up on his career in 2000,he did a corporate gig in order to make money to go back to British Columbia. It was at that corporate gig that he ended up getting discovered. Corporate gigs didn't excite him back then and he only took that job because he needed money badly. It is funny how opportunities sometimes exist where we least expect to find them!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

(Cont.) What an amazing talent! Made me realize how much I enjoyed music from bygone days , old b&w movies I'd watched as a kid , before cable tv. He really helped to further expand my musical tastes. It's great to see his humble beginnings in these early videos. Thanks Mike , for sharing your talent and yours and your grandfather's love for this music with all of us.
