Michael c hall never got asked to host SNL because he only does indies.people who host snl are usually there to promote mainstream films .it called a cross promotion.the stars who host snl use the show to promote their film and snl usually uses the actors to promote their show. So people will tune into their show . Since Michael c hall does indies they don't play in a lot theaters and don't require a lot of advertisement. They require word of mouth.
