In my opinion Chris can be mad at Mike for lying. Mike can show Chris that he changed but when Chris finds out Mike lied, all that progress will go back to 0. I know Mike was probably scared that Chris won't forgive him if he told the truth but, if he did tell the truth to Chris he could show him that he has changed and wants to be a better brother to him with little to no chance of Chris disliking him again. I do respect your opinion, but this is how I see it and think if Mike did this it would have been more beneficial than harmful for their relationship.
