2:02 is right on. The Roast wouldn't have been nearly as bad had Doug just taken the L, said his closing bit to Emmitt and made fun of himself while walking off. Instead, he looked like a deer in the headlights, and just stood there while Jamie was roasting him with "I'm your conscience" jokes for almost two minutes. Made him look like he had no control of the situation which is the worst. If he had just done that, it would've been a stinker but not the public humiliation that people remember over two decades later.

He is exactly right!! We "black people" have a habit of tearing our kids down and each other. We need to support our kids dreams and ambition. You never know God could of given your child that dream. I supported everything my children wanted to do and dreamed of doing. I only asked that they at least give me two years of college. Thank GOD they all graduated from college and are successful in their careers. I never got that from my mother I was told I was dumb, I would never be nothing, I had no common sense, you just like your father stupid, etc... The only reason I made it was GOD!! God spoke to me saying don't listen you going to be alright. God but a desire and strength in me to fight; to use her words as fuel to prove her wrong. I also had to learn how to be my own cheerleader. Tell myself I'm not dumb I can do it! Today I'm a Network Technician with only a high school diploma. GOD IS GOOD!! He has been the head of my life, my strength, my everything. I tell parents don't kill your kids dreams. I tell kids you can be anything you want to be you just have to learn it. It may get hard at times, you may struggle, but keep fight through to the end. Sometimes you have to be your own cheerleader. God bless....🙏
