Michael Connelly on "The Black Box," his new Harry Bosch mystery

It's been 20 years since Bosch first appeared, in "The Black Echo." The LAPD detective who doesn't do well with authority won him the Edgar Award for best first novel and has been a favorite with readers ever since. So have Michael Connelly's books not in the Bosch series -- all told, his 25 novels have sold more than 45 million copies.
Times' book reporter Carolyn Kellogg sits down with Connelly on the publication day of his latest, "The Black Box."
