Thank you for posting this - the book is wonderful, haunting and deeply moving. The ages of the children show how "changed" our world has become - children can't take care of themselves it seems, even into their 20's now - good or bad? Who can say.....my dad worked the lumber camps of Northern Ontario from 12 years old and went to War at 16...
