The mistake in measuring anything as a 'store of value' in fiat currency terms is that fiat currency loses it's purchasing power as it is diluted. An ounce of gold has been worth an ounce of gold for all time. A better illustration of store of value is to compare an ounce of gold with an acre of land since gold was allowed to float against fiat. Maybe people conflate 'store of value' with 'store of price'.

It troubles me when MM guests use the word "money" and clearly are referring to fiat paper. I just expect better analysis than comparing everything to fiat and trying to predict what the Fed will do and why. That's all animal spirits.
