Michael Gove: 'My life was transformed by being adopted'

Education Secretary Michael Gove has a strong personal interest in the national adoption plan that he's announcing today. Mr Gove was himself adopted at the age of four months and for the first time has been talking about how it affected his life. Mr Gove told me he had nothing but gratitude and love for the coupled who had "gambled" on him as a baby and given him opportunities in life that he would otherwise never have had. He said he would never try to trace his birth mother such is his love for his adoptive parents. The national adoption plan, to be launched next month, will aim to speed up the adoption process and remove much of the red tape that currently slows down the process.

Michael Gove was starting to get jowly here but he was still basically in his prime and more beautiful than the Sun.

It worked for him, it doesnt work for everyone and a lot of abuse goes on whether its physical,sexual or psychological and you should try to keep families together not split them up further just because your adoption was a success.

Well Lucky you, having your life transformed by adoption! Perhaps, Michael you would like to come and talk to some of the children who have been adopted and then returned to care. A THIRD of children adopted are returned to care. They've kicked him out of government. About time!

Not actually true, national statistics don't exist, but it is believed to be between 3.2% and 9% ...certainly not one third
