This was a fantastic podcast! Although somewhat somber, Michael's support for his thesis is incredibly thorough and even as somebody who wholeheartedly embraces Bitcoin and the freedom it represents in my hopium-based mind, this is some of the best critique of it I've ever heard. Thank for bringing him on Paul. You are doing great in creating a wide range of content and opinions in a world where tunnel vision has become the standard!

not sure that's interesting. I prefer sticking to interviewing people myself. Will make sure to keep the guests interesting and different!

Great content. Thanks guys. Mike's critique of #Bitcoin is mostly correct, but what else can the people do? This is why #Bitcoin will continue to succeed and grow.

Woo ouch, the dialogue really petered out on Bitcoin.

At the end of the day, both BTC and USD are products aren't they? So I'm of the view that if BTC becomes a true threat to the USD, the fed/state will adjust policy to make the USD more attractive to those that would adopt BTC. Heck, this competition alone would do wonders against stamping out over-progressive tendencies

There's no way for BTC to be a threat to USD anymore than, say, home prices

@@Erikpdx yeah you don't have to tell me, I'm speaking to Mike greens point. That said, you can't send the actual house across a computer network, nor are all houses uniform the way 1satoshi or usd is the same as another satoshi or usd

Paul called out Green at the end for talking out of both sides of his mouth re: Bitcoin. He says we need to improve the system, but provides no solution. Bitcoin is the best solution we have and he dismisses it. Green is right about so much but always seems to not quite reach the right conclusions.
@Erikpdx2 жыл бұрын
Best solution for what? That's Green's point. As peer to peer payment transfer? No. As a store of value? No. To stick it to democratic governments? That's you bro. He's saying you need to be honest with what it is. It's a speculative asset.

@@davidedwards8033 canada said if you're running operations to hurt their economy, they can temporarily freeze your assets. They can do that anywhere if you're suspected of criminal activity. Having bitcoin doesn't help if you don't have a bank account to transfers back to to make payments. And it really just upholds the narrative crypto is just for criminals
