Very true, the 2nd night was much better. It's funny because he actually does more dance moves on the first show, but it didn't actually feel like he was fully there...he was very lethargic.. The 2nd show, he was more alert and more energetic. He did much better. It annoys me that when people say this was his worst performance people come up with 'Oh you trying doing this at that age!'. But even at 43 he was capable of much better than this and he showed that on the second show.

He actually was a little bit high, but everyone was surprised that he was able to perform, but that's how good MJ was/is he could be high as a damn kite but he still could perform like there's no freaking tomorrow, once he hears the music, and has a mic in his hands he knows what to do. Total BOSS.

Dont think he was that high, but i guess he did not rehearsed much after years not performing much, so he lack some routines, plus he eventually fed up then with some of those routines so he did stuff quite differently by years 2000 until last rehearsals in 09. Some dance moments there in Billie Jean are just amazing, best ever to me.

If you watch the original footage you can see he's not quite himself. A lot of the songs he sang with his eyes closed the whole time, but he never missed a beat and was phenomenal as usual. The accident he had during the concert in Germany where the bridge he was on dropped to fast really injured his back, and I think caused him more pain chronically for the rest of his life than the burn to his scalp. He finished the song and sang YANA before going backstage and collapsing, Phenomenal artist!

@@Thedearster This happened in Munich, 1999 during the concert which was the 2nd show for the fundraising event, MJ & Friends. The bridge planned for 'Earth song', that was supposed to descend down slowly to the initial height (where it rose from) after a minute of a pause, malfunctioned and dropped down. Luckily it wasn't a free fall, which could've proved fatal. One (or 2) of the wires that held the bridge snapped and caused this whole incident. Some of the pyrotechnics led Michael to suffer slight burns. You can see what exactly happened there by searching it up on youtube.

Michael you are so loved and missed...I'm just thankful to have been alive during this generation that he was with us. Its importaint to mention that he was high on the first night from the MSG Concerts (7.Sept.) That's why the first night is just annoying and most of the footage shown on TV etc is from the second night (10.Sept.) and the performance is outstanding there :)

I'm a Michael Jackson fan, but you can clearly see he is on some heavy medications. Just compare this performance to Bad, Dangerous, or even the History tours. I mean even the way he looks. Not sure if that has to do with the medications he was taking though. He looked so different in 92 than in 01.

Well, see an optometrist pronto because he was also drugged up on the HIStory Tour and his you believe his defense for the 1993 allegations, he was doped up on the Dangerous tour as well. I'm not disputing him being on drugs here AT ALL, but there's more going on beneath the surface here. Drugs mixed with alcohol is a recipe for disaster: Alcohol use wasn't widely reported during the aforementioned shows.

I have the opposite opinion of the majority, I think the show on September 7th is better than on the 10th. Even though MJ is tall, he does more MJ-style movements than on the 10th. He was electric and doesn't keep putting his hand on face all the time. On the 10th he did the show practically for the moonwalk, he stands for a long time on the stage and with his hand constantly on his face, the difference that on the 10th he was normal and on alert.

Actually he was mildly impaired here. In both Jermaines book and Frank Cascios book which are both excellent they talk about that on the night of the first show Michael was supposed to be in the audience at 8PM to watch the other stars tribute to him. When he never showed they found him asleep in his room. he admitted he had taken a shot of demerol because his back was hurting so bad.

There's even a clip before show with him and Elizabeth Taylor holding his arm cause he could barely walk..
