This version (featuring Slash?) never made it to the posthumous album called Xscape by Michael Jackson. Written and recorded in 1991, but failed to make it to the Dangerous album.

To be honest this version should have made the Xscape album, simply because this goes along with the music that MJ wanted for the song. The new version is good, but in my opinion not good enough. Thank you so much for uploading :)

Best version tbh. THIS is what Mike was about, guitars and drums, and little sounds in the background that you vaguely hear! Not some synthesized bullshit. Listen to the Xscape album, there's not one instrument on that album! All computers.

Jay TEE Yes and no, he still made songs with rhyme and in a variety of sounds to form a beat under a melody. With Xscape you had Timberland just throw on generic sequences together over the lyrics. Plus modern rap beats have no rhythm, they're just over synthesized electronic sound effects.

***** Stuff like Slave to the Rhythm and Loving You debate your points. I do wish he had done more expansive 20/20 Experience type work, I admit. But I feel like it works. More importantly, MJ was too much of a cypher to ever really pin down. Yes, he did music like that, but who's to say he wouldn't change his mind? Or better yet, do a bit of both.

This version, along with Blue Gangsta and Slave To The Rhythm, which were leaked in 2010, were suppose to be on the Michael album. Compared to the Xscape versions, this song kicks ass.
