This was released in 1982 and he spent 7 years getting it where he wanted it. Michael was tapped into the universe. An avid reader he absorbed knowledge like a sponge. I really respect your thoughtful and emotional reaction to such a powerful song with an existential message. Too many people are alienated from nature and disconnected from the source of all wisdom and wonder. Spreading knowledge with love is something we all can do in our everyday lives. Keep up the great work👏👏👏🌎🌏🌍✌️

A highly emotive song and video with a very powerful message from Michael Jackson. He is decrying the desecration of our planet, the killing of animals and the impact of wars. I think it is supposed to be a wakeup call but as this song is from a good few years ago and we're now in 2021, I don't think many lessons have been learnt and so it goes on. In 2020/21, because of this dreadful virus, we've all had to adapt to a different way of life. When things are back to some kind of normality will this be seen as a wakeup call? I somehow doubt it, because as usual everything boils down to power, money and greed. In fact it seems to me that this song and video are more relevant now than they were all these years ago. However, I would like to think that things could change, maybe there will be small changes, but big ones? It would be good if people would listen and understand what is happening, we can but live in hope and perhaps make our own small contribution. Very interesting and thought provoking reaction, guys, thanks so much, I certainly agree with everything you've said, I can see that it affected you emotionally as it did me, it's a very powerful song and video.

this was always one of my favorite songs. I have a very vivid memory of hearing this song play on the stereo in our living room when I was five or six. I fell in love with it immediately and in the coming years I became such a big Michael Jackson fan. I was obsessed. A few years later, one night in 2009, this song is playing in the stereo again and I am listening to it and being hypnotized all over again. And when the song ends I hear the news that he had just passed away. That year was crazy, I was so young but I remember it so well. His music was the soundtrack to my life back then

Mike completed this song during the allegations, during the times when his own family turned their backs on him. Mike was in deep pain and you felt it all come to a head in this song. This is a song that I've always felt every single person on earth should listen. Not just a powerful message but it is equally powerfully presented too covering everything in a few minutes. Most songs just have a powerful message but falls short on conveying that it just becomes a feel good or kind of emotional song. Earth song is surely one of the most well written songs in history and many might argue against but I consider this the best MJ song ever. Period
