Though It’s a Good Bop, It’s Better Unreleased or As a B-Side. It Just Doesn’t Fit, In My Opinion, on the “Thriller” Album. It Sounds Just Like Everything That Was Going on During That Time, Which Isn’t a Bad Thing, But It Would Definitely Stick Out like a Sore Thumb on That Album & Not in a Good Way.

I STILL can't believe this song was NOT on Thriller (should have been the 3rd track after, "Baby Be Mine"). I know it's a perfect album...BUT, it easily could've been an even more legendary (almost hard to believe, considering the LP was selling a million copies a week for like 2 months at one point in the early '80s) double LP, featuring ALL of those would-be classics, inc. this one...We ALL KNOW this song would have been a Top 10 hit Pop single in 1983 onward..."Behind The Mask", "Carousel", "Nite Line", "She's Trouble"...oh, it actually hurts to hear/think what could have been. I'm still confused WHY Epic hasn't released a special edition of Thriller, including a disc of the songs that were proposed, recorded, but ultimately held back. UGH! BTW, I think you may have uploaded the best-sounding version of "Hot Street" on KZbin. Thank you...

AnthonyKZbinFan all of his unreleased track's rights were given by MJ to his children. So they decide when and what release. (I think so, I'm not sure)
@anthonyyoutubefan7567
@anthonyyoutubefan7567 6 жыл бұрын
Adriano Marchi -- You may be right, but, I thought Sony/Epic retained exclusive release rights for any of his unreleased tracks from the vault from 2007 to 2019, or some time period like that. Do those kids really have a say in when that material gets released? I think it may be after that 10 to 15 year time span that the power may revert back to the children and Mrs. Jackson, who is the Executor of his Estate (I think). This may explain why the Cascio tracks didn't get a full release, because they weren't happy w/ how Sony "altered" the raw recordings, and, supposedly, the complete/demo tracks were owned between MJ, The Cascios, and James Porte, so, Sony/Epic has no say. What happens in the next year or so may determine if Our hunches are correct.

Can you imagine if they'd taken all of the unreleased, fully produced songs he had back then and released them as their own album (along with We Are the World and a couple of others) back in 1985? It would've been a perfect midway point between Thriller and Bad: 1. Hot Street 2. State of Shock 3. Nite Line 4. We Are Here to Change the World 5. We Are the World 6. Carousel 7. Got the Hots 8. Behind the Mask 9. She's Trouble There you go. A nine track album that perfectly fits in with Michael's 1980s discography.

Stone shaker is looking fine She's a heart breaker every time She never seems to realize That someday she'll be crying too She is) A Sharp shooter that's moving fast A slight cruiser loaded with gas Sloving down to make a pass You think It's gonna hit you So why not take a chance? Cause this is hot street Just feel the night beat, yeah Cause this is hot street Because the fantasy will never stop On hot street A street walker when there's time to spare Big spenders holding their share A heart of gold, but no one cares Within their eyes Some young lovers are laughing loud And there's some old suckers trying to get down The evening spins around and round Yes, people of the night smoking through the dark Cause this is hot street Just feel the night beat, yeah Cause this is hot street Because the fantasy will never stop On hot street Just trying to put a little fun in their lives You see them standing on the corner in the neon light Oo! Yeah yeah - Oo! Some feeling you can't explain It's such a Hard feeling lying in bed's flame The evening starts to fall again It's time to come alive So why not take a chance? Cause this is hot street Just feel the night beat, yeah Cause this is hot street Because the fantasy will never stop On hot street

This song is great, can’t believe it didn’t end up on Thriller. I love the intro, how it starts with the major chords of the synth and it’s all playful, then when the bass kicks in it switches to minor and it just sounds badass

I understand why this song didn’t make Thriller; it had nothing to do with the song itself but more of the direction they wanted the album to go. This doesn’t scream spooky at all. This is more of a party vibe/feel good anthem. Still a great song tho! Unfortunately when you’re signed by a major record label, you have to put out the music they want instead of the music you want! When MJ gained creative control and bought back the rights to all his music/catalog plus some, that’s when they started messin wit him and eventually got rid of him!
