Annalise with your guys, thank you so much for this wonderful perfect cover from Human Nature. Very well done. Now, ten minutes later, I still have goosebumps from your performance. As many surely not know, the song almost didn’t exist. „Human Nature“ was written by Steve Porcaro keyboardist of Toto. Steve said „I was written the song for my daughter Heather. A boy hit her on the playground. She wanted to know why? So couldn‘t easily explain that the boy somehow didn’t liked her or that it was just human nature. From it the question „why?“ in the chorus was born.“ Quincy Jones heard a demo by accident with some other demo tracks from David Paich, who worked also on the „Thriller“ album. David Paich is singer, songwriter and keyboardist of Toto, too. David asked Steve to prepare a tape demo for Quincy. Just then there was no free cassette with enough time for the full demo at hand. But they managed to record a few parts on a B-side of a used cassette with other demo tracks. Quincy wouldn't be Quincy if he hadn't recognised this immediately. Quincy heard it and was so impressed.
