Wow he never got a chance to be heard..that must have been rough to deal with...Berry Gordy was so right though Motown had so many wonderful A List Superstars come through their doors..thank God for Berry Gordy..music would not be the same without him and I love that part before he introduced Michael..there are stars..superstars and then there is Michael Jackson...he was in a category all of his own

Exactly - I've often been very frustrated with the 'fans' who won't even listen to what he (Michael) has to say; it's so rude and he was always such a class act about it. Mr. Gordy seemed to be a bit more agitated by it, but Michael always has the patience of Job in these, and far worse, circumstances. I can't imagine that life; when you look at this kind of footage you can understand why people made him uncomfortable in those days, they did seem crazy. He was larger than life, and I for one miss him terribly, and regret that we didn't treat him better when he was here. I pray that he's resting in peace.

@@PamelaDFrank honestly it was so rude indeed and it seemed a kind of manic craze that defied proper upbringing and manners..I understand their loving him etc but wouldn't you want to hear what the one you love has to say I mean there is a place for applause and screaming just not when he is speaking or others are speaking for and about him...nothing is wrong with adulation but some composure is necessary I think to show not only love but respect..oh and I totally agree he had such grace and poise in dealing with it...your comments are so true

I don't know if it comes with maturity or what, but the lack of decorum is so telling (not to mention so annoying) - and I'm no snob, I grew up in the hood - but like you said, there's home training, and basic respect. I mean, if you love him, common sense says don't do anything to make him not want to be around you... seeing him live & in the flesh is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and THAT's how you choose to behave??!?!! THAT's the impression you choose to leave on someone you claim to love? It doesn't add up, & Michael was an emotionally intelligent person; he could sense the hysteria, (which isn't love) and just watching it is scary, so I can't imagine experiencing it - constantly. It's so nice - unfortunate due to the circumstances, but nice - to know that I'm not the only one who feels that frustration when watching him attempt to give speeches; I really wish we, as people, would have treated him and other celebrities who were blessings, with more respect than we did, and had appreciated them as opposed to smothering them. At this point, I pray society has learned it's lesson, not to 'love' those we admire to death. Thanks so much for your comments!
