Jackson sang "They Don't Care About Us" a song from his "HIStory" album and went through an energetic dance routine along with eight male dancers.
Wearing a grey jacket, black trousers, and a red and white shirt half untucked, he looked to be enjoying the rehearsal which was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
A public memorial service for him is expected to be held for him at the same venue next Tuesday.
Jackson was reheasring for his 50-date appearance at the O2 Arena in London.
AEG Live, promoter of those shows, released the short video of Jackson rehearsing.
It said there are more than 100 hours of documentary footage of Jackson preparing for his comeback performances. It said the video material could be turned into a film for cinema release.
In the video Jackson performed moves including shuffles and knee bends and at one point dances with a guitarist.
His voice sounds strong and the dance run-through indicates that preparations for the show were well advanced. The footage was reported to have been shot on June 23.

I was 12 when Thriller was released. I would stare at his inner sleeve drawings. Kids, get the vinyl LP. I was 13 when Thriller's MTV videos were released. I was awake at 2am for the Thriller zombie premiere on TV. I danced like him. Truly. I tried. Used baby powder to throw on the floor at school to glide the moonwalk. I could flip the fedora onto my head after a 360 by 14. I waited 3 agonising years for Bad. At 18 and 22 I was 6 feet from him at the Bad and Dangerous concerts. I grew up when he was at his peak. He was part of me and millions like me. And June 2009 pushed us all away. To every kid who saluted the 1983 Michael with me, peace.

@@lucascampbell8482 I don't think that's really true. According to reports he was in such bad condition that they were seriously doubting if he would be able to do the tour at all. He suffered from really bad insomnia (which is assumed to be caused by his scalp burn, which never healed properly) and he was on several medications to try to sleep, and he was badly addicted to demerol. Reportedly he usually had trouble in rehearsals and would usually cut them short. But sometimes, like in this video, he was really sharp and energetic, and it's hypothesized that in those occasions he was high on demerol.

henry Darkchylde I agree with Henry. It's okay to like someone but closing your eyes to their discrepencies is just silly. He wasn't accused of being on drugs with no evidence form people who wanted his money. He admitted being addicted to pain medication himself, many years before his death. There is a complete and comprehensive paper trail of the drugs he was prescribed and an army of people with evidence to show it. For the record i don't believe he was a child molester for a moment but to hold him up as some sort of perfect saint is just . . . . well - retarded. He had a strange and hard life. He used drugs to escape it at times. That doesn't make him bad or wrong in any way, it makes him human.

The truth is he wasn’t in good shape. He was sickly skinny, and was taking 40-50 pills a day, which would instantly kill the normal human. He was a heavy heavy drug addict, and was taking lethal drugs like morphine and propofol. People who worked with him said he hardly used to eat, and would hardly turn up to for these rehearsals. He may look like he’s in good shape, but the inside was destroyed.

I don't think he was healthy. He weighed like only 50 kilos when he died, that's too little for a man his age. EDIT: He weighed around 62 kilos which is alot better than 50, but considering his age, 62 was just on the verge of underweight. I also want to point out that during MJ's last few shows he was taking a drug called Ephedrine, a type of stimulant, which greatly helped with his overall performance. His autopsy, however revealed that his heart was strong and completely healthy (which contradicts the saying that MJ was "a drug addict"). There were no signs of long term drug abuse. Apparently his lungs weren't exactly in great shape but that's expected. As we know, MJ had a history of Demorol usage, but there was no Demorol in his system according to his autopsy, aka he wasn't using it at the time of his death. There were no signs of MJ using or abusing painkillers or other drugs during the periods between 1993-2001 or 2003-2008.

"Fade out" and it fades with Michael smiling. Because the stage is his happiness. And him performing is my happiness. And as long as I remember his beautiful smile, flawless dancing and angelic voice, I will never forget him. He is basically a part of me. Even though it devastates me to tears every time I think of it, it also comforts me because I know he will be laughing and smiling with everyone he loved that has passed too. And he is finally at peace :) I know he wouldn't want me to cry, so I'm going to wipe away my tears and 'smile though my heart is breaking'. I love you to the moon and back Mike. ✌️

J Davies I will never understand why fans worship celebrities so passionately. The man didn't even know you existed and you want to cry for him. I understand feeling a bit sad at his passing but crying seems a bit too much doesn't it? Especially so many years after his death. And just because he was a good musician and entertainer. You don't even know whether he was a good person or not.

People like Jackson are not just celiebrities, my friend. "Just" a celebrity is Kim Kardashian and Paris. But Michael Jackson touched A LOT of people - globally - with his music. He's on a totally different level. Mind you, I'm just a casual listener. I'm certainly not a hardcore fan. But I know very well how his fans feel, because that's how I feel about other artists. People on the level of Jackson create music with a message, they pour out their feelings into these songs. The fans realize that, they feel that, they appreciate that. There's a very strong connection between a real artist with a real talent and his/her fans. It's something that non-fans simply can't feel and can't understand.

His performance is slow because because he isn't actually performing. He's rehearsing. Jermaine's book "You Are Not Alone" clarifies that MJ usually rehearsed at a half-pace to just sort of learn the moves and the pace at which it's supposed to go. And then he'd go all out while on stage in front on an actual audience. His deliberately slower moves here aren't out of the ordinary. He rehearsed like this even in his prime.

I watched a performance of the king of soul, James Brown, he was almost 70 or 70 at the time, and he was a beast, for one hour he was a beast in that stage. I cannot imagine people saying Michael was sick, and skinny, and blah blah blah. Brown was alcoholic and used drugs as well, heavy drugs, he lived to be 73. He was skinny as well. Mick Jagger is skinny and he uses drugs as water, and he is alive and well. To me, personally, Michael was killed. Maybe not on purpose, but killed.

For everyone will going to face the judgement seat of Jesus Christ so you and me must be ready for it. Micheal Jackson he is in hell right now and there's no escape from it, I'm sad for his soul he didn't accept Christ before he died. He is satan worshiper that God Almighty doesn't want.. JESUS IS LORD OVER satan. For everyone that is in hell they will separate from the creator of all.. God ALMIGHTY. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? I was quite shocked watching this to see how very tired he appears. Not as much energy as we were used to seeing him with during performances. In rehearsals, artists don’t put in as much energy because its practice. They prepare for the real thing and get it down, then on stage, when it’s go time, they go all out and mix stuff up with their full energy. But yes you can tell he’s tired, and definitely older; however, he wasn’t as slow and immobile as I would expect at his age. 50 and moving around dancing and stuff like he did in his 20s was obviously not going to happen, but he was still energetic and such.

see his Dangerous rehearsals.. it's quite the same energy in dancing.. though in this clip, he'd put more power on the adlib vocals in Dangerous, that powerful shouting-like adlibs(microphone volume was low) would just be a falsetto / whispers. to me, michael looked fine in this clip... i guess he'd got an energy boost? or maybe he's just really enjoying the moment that he disregards his tired body? maybe... cos i do disregard my body, even if it's tired when i'm doing something that is enjoyable. for example: marathon sex, playing tag, basketball, soccer, hardcore paintball, extreme lasertag, and things like that... i bet there are a lot of secrets still hidden. who knows what that doctor, those from Sony and the people around him had done to him... if only there's some way to resurrect the dead and make them tell their tales

I was 46 when he died. He was a gifted artist. He had many many problems from the trauma he experienced while growing up. He was "raised right" by his father. Today it would be identified as child abuse. He began performing non stop from the time he was 7. He stopped in 2009 when he was 51. He was constantly hounded by the press and the fans. He was so famous EVERYONE knew him. He held the Guinness World's Record for his Thriller sales. He won the Diamond World Award for selling over 100,000,000 Million Records. He had inspired so many people around the world, musicians everywhere acclaim his talent. He had given over $300,000,000.00 to charity in his lifetime. In the early 80's he shared his time, fame and resources to help make a teenage boy dying from an illness from the blood (AIDS) He needed the blood to survive because he had hemophilia. Then " We are the World". Repeating in song and action that action repeatedly before he was gone. Yet he had only a few close friends. Lisa Presley (who hung with him when her Dad Elvis was doing a show in Vegas and the Jackson Five were doing one also.) Brooke Shields and those "leaving neverland" friends who had a chance at fame but got messed up with drugs and they spend the rest of their lives chasing fame and turning to or against everyone because you care more for their own. So to all who are "sure" he did, I say that Michael was proven not guilty. There is no physical evidence. He was not perfect. He had problems as we all do. But before you post as some of you did, just believe what you want but he has 3 children who love him, family that love him & fans who love him... LOVE not loved. We need to try harder to be nicer. Thanks
