Seems pretty obvious to me that this song is about domestic abuse, a woman who tries to do everything to please and get love from her husband but it's never enough and she's never appreciated neither at home or at work, the rhythm seems to be s metaphor for the routine and constant pressure she has to face, in the end, after a fight, which suggests he may have beaten her or something, instead of "dancing", letting it go like all the other times, she finally manages to break free of "his chains" and decides she deserves better. That would be my analysis! Michael was such a great songwriter! This is a vety important issue!
