There is a big story behind this performance. Indeed, it doesn't seem like it but this night was a nightmare for MJ, he was so disappointed because his album "Bad" didn't receive any grammy even if MJ worked way much harder on it than "Thriller". It is the first time that MJ seems so vulnerable on stage during Man in the mirror and he did that to show everyone how much he was sad and disappointed. Well after this performance i guess all the others celebrities realized that they were nothing compared to the king of pop. We miss you Michael
@johnrouslin97303 жыл бұрын
Actually, it was immediately AFTER this performance that he lost the Grammy for “Bad”. In fact when they announced the nominations, and showed the artists, they cut to him backstage still in his TWYMMF costume, soaked in sweat with a towel around his neck. The performance you just watched was in fact NOT influenced by or representative of any kind of sadness due to MJ losing a Grammy. However, MINUTES LATER, after he had gotten the bad news that he lost, he changed into a typical MJ award ceremony outfit and he was sitting in the audience with the biggest frown you’ve ever seen. He was most certainly pissed about the Grammy loss. Just wanted to clarify the context of the performance.
