Michael is known for his dancing and showmanship, but his voice was really underrated. Off the Wall and Thriller albums actually showcase his voice best. After he got into new Jack swing, things got very stylized and he kind of became his own genre, but before that he was gold with that R&B/funk combo.

i have to agree here with you how MJ commanded that stage.. i too grew up during this age and truly didnt really understand how great he is til after he died. every time i listen to his songs, i now really appreciate how great his music and voice is. i sure wish i was able to afford to catch MJ in at least 1 concert before he died but we were to broke to go. thanks to youtube, i now am able to see some of his stage stuff.

I danced to all his songs from junior high through high school. I was in college when Thriller came out and my friends and I learned his dance moves. Just about everyone did. Of course we never came close to the king of pop, but it was great fun. Thank you for this Andy. 🤗

Thriller takes me back to my last years in high school and my freshman year in college. I went to a Halloween party. My friends and I were in costume and danced to Thriller. Oh happy days! @@whoami7770 I never understand that argument because mj was inspired by James Brown Yet ppl can see Mj had an edge on James as an overall entertainer but they were both great. I’m saying Bruno is up there too, the guy always sounds great vocally, dances and plays instruments with high energy like Mj.

I don't know if you'll read but I was there to see this performance with you, I felt so much emotion. As only Michael made me try and I remember that in an interview he said That a dancer is not seen in the time he has in the music he hears inside and he managed to convey all his soul ...
