I believe this 1989 MJ was the most unstoppable basketball player. He averaged 32 PPG 8 APG and 8 RPG which is better than any LeBron or Kobe season. PLUS he had 10 triple doubles in a row. GOAT.

The finger roll at 6:30 is art in the air. Amazing. Love the dunk at 6:46, how he bulls his way past the body contact of Turner and then dunks on the entire city of Denver lol. Thanks for the upload Hoops.

When the tongue comes out...ITS OVER! I like seeing MJ destroy the lane as well as dishing assists to his teammates!

6:00 that one hand catch is ridiculous. Reminds me of the inbounds pass he stabbed with one hand vs hawks.

6:29 exquisite finish. The likes I still, to this day, have not seen. A champion, a prolific scorer, a dogged defender, wielder of massively underrated court vision...he was all those things. And yet, on top of all that, he was, bar none, the most aesthetically beautiful player I've ever seen. Period. And I think that's the hard part for younger people to understand. Once you've seen Jordan in his prime...it is hard to be impressed. It really is.

Before he gave in to male pattern baldness the very next season and shaved his hair to set yet another iconic fashion trend, this 88'-89' season Air Jordan was at the highest level any player has ever obtained on both sides of the ball combined. It was pure joy to watch as a kid!!

4:10. "The Knicks are really good. So is Cleveland". Haha. Jordan took care of both of them later that year in the '89 playoffs.

6:42, catches it and pivots with his left foot, then swaps to his right foot. such an obvious travel haha. but great game from the legend. cheers for the upload!

@JAM917 that's what i was trying to say, he had very smooth and subtle footwork that he always got away, because of how unnoticeable it was, i swear he had quite a few of these and i always kept silent( because jordan fans would get pissed off if i am nip-picking, ironically I am a huge jordan fan as well)

practically you can switch you pivot foot two times legally if you are grabbing the ball from a passwithout dribbling it , but usually when jordan did it it was really fast and smooth you have to really paya lot of attention to catch it even when it is in slow motion. i think that's why he got a way so much. not trying to stir up argument but leborn or kobe does this sort of traveling in more obvious fashions.

@sathernut First off I've played a lot of ball. I think I'm pretty versed in what constitutes a travel. But, I missed it the first time, I didn't see him dangling his left foot. It looked like originally when he caught it he hadn't establish his pivot foot. Which is why he when he planted with his left foot (which is his pivot foot not his right foot) I didn't think it was a travel.
@popeyeisgood

@sathernut yea jordan did that quite often in the past. but his upper body moves and his defender's reaction is too distracting for the ref to catch it. also jordan's footwork is very smooth even traveling and it makes it harder to notice.

@sathernut I fail to see where he switches his pivot foot. He's dribbling the ball when switches to his right foot. That wasn't a travel.

That Call was Correct.. MJ was travelling on the play... He changed his pivot foot...
@popeyeisgood
@popeyeisgood 14 жыл бұрын
@bobo0383 he totally travels there. he switched his pivot foot there. when he set the pivot foot the first time he was moving the other foot and then he started using the moving one as the pivot foot. but like mj always had smooth footwork and it makes it pretty hard to spot sometimes.

@bobo0383 Watch, he catches the ball and plants his RIGHT foot, and moves his left foot around a couple of times, he then plants his LEFT foot and pivots with his RIGHT foot. Textbook travel if you can see that then you obviously dont play basketball. Also should be noted that after he swaps his planted foot to his left one he also then moves this a number of times before taking off, which is a travel within itself. Anyway its michael jordan who really cares haha!
