Good 'ol Darnell Mee. He came to play for the team I support in Australia in the late 90's. Won a bunch of Defensive Player of the Year awards, made All-NBL teams and won 2 titles. He played a few of those years with Kevin Brooks whose cards you may have also randomly pulled from this era. They didn't have great NBA careers, but still had a heck of a run playing basketball professionally!

Sage I used open tons of 90s wax during the pandemic and when I came across sticking you don't want to flex/bend the pack you will definitely get paper loss that way. I know it sounds crazy but try putting the packs in the freezer for a few minutes before opening them and if the cards don't have foil on the a few seconds in the microwave works well too, but only like 4-5 seconds at a time as needed.

I've tried both methods. Neither worked for me.

I always had much better luck using the microwave method, you can even leave them in longer than 5 seconds. I’d use some cards you know aren’t good when testing, only put about 10-15 cards in at a time. . You’ll know you heated them to long when the card has a yellowish tint along the border, or smells weird. Be careful if you try leaving them in for longer intervals as they can get quite hot quite fast, you can even use a very thin butter knife and slowly/carefully pry the cards apart, that being said it did not always work. I wanna say I learned the technique from a video from The Past is Alive’s channel. Hope you can find a way that works for you, it sucks opening bricked cards and even more when a good card it pulled with paper lost. My biggest finds were the Upper Deck rookie Jeter from 93 the front was completely ruined (why I started looking for ways to salvage brick packs) and a 94 upper deck electric diamond Star Rookie Michael Jordan with very little paper loss.
