Michael Jordan in NBA Jam! (NBA Jam Rewind hack in MAME)

A quick video highlighting the "NBA Jam Rewind" hack where Michael Jordan is playable. Make sure to read the readme. Several files need to be patched individually. There is also an option for another phrase from the announcer though I didn't include it here.

Yeah, I always found it funny that he wasn't included because of licensing deals he had at the time but he had one special made for himself.

​@DarthMarino I believe it was the same with Charles Barkley as he had Shut Up and Jam. But why wasn't Gary Payton included in the game?

Barkley is in the arcade versions including TE. The initial home releases included him as well. He is certainly in my SNES copy. They did a revision of the home versions shortly after and replaced him with Dan Marjerle. Payton is in Tournament Edition, both arcade and home versions. @@siqaraminmassaquoi1999

Jordan averaged 1.7 and 1.5 blocks in a season. Pippen highest 1.2 and 1.1

I made a separate MAME folder with just my new ROM. Did you use Beat patcher? Make sure it's actually the 2.1 ROM. I believe version 2.0 used to also be called "nbajamte2". Otherwise you can probably find one that's already patched somewhere on the net.

Hello. I entered the "roms/nbajamte2" command, and my screen goes black (like it does when Mame is launching), but all that appears is a list of all the files included in the rom, and the screen exits. Mame never opens. Do you know what might be causing this, and what the solution would be? Thanks in advance.

Make sure it's actually the 2.1 ROM. I believe version 2.0 used to also be called "nbajamte2" but they updated it recently. Otherwise you can probably find one that's already patched somewhere on the net.

​@@DarthMarinoI decided to give this another try in Windows Command Prompt. When I type in mame roms/nbajamte2, I get "mame is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I used both forward and back slash, and got the same message. When I enter the complete file path into Windows Command Prompt, I get "The system cannot find the path specified." Any solution on how I can get this to run? I did confirm i have the 2.1 rom. Thanks in advance.

You navigated to the MAME folder first? Does MAME run at all if you just type mame (without the roms/nbajamte2 part) in the command prompt from that folder?@@coreyalexander9059

And this is just regular MAME? Maybe try a few older versions and see if you have better luck. This is the only time I've had to run MAME this way so I don't know much about it.@@coreyalexander9059
