Oh ya ervenham leaving was a good indicator then most of the sponsors ran too bc of Nascar influence. Thing is they raced at all the smaller major venues not even the tracks Nascar races at outside of the west amd east series

@budsodastories Nascar started because the bootleggers wanted to see who was the fastest. All sports have started small and then grew. I feel Tony getting out of stock car racing was indicative of 2 things. 1. He was tired of Nascar and didn't want to fight the sponsorship battle which Nascar would have won. 2. He knew that Nascar would try something like this and didn't want anything with the charter agreements

I think it’s not just teams but tracks too. Look at Pikes Peak and Nazareth where they were sold and the clause stated that no professional racing can be held at either (mainly Pikes Peak)

I think the tipping point was nascar buying arca while not as big as the big 3 tiers it was the only national series comparable. Asa has been dead cars tour isnt that large hooters pro cup is dead srx is dead so theres no competing series even remotely comparable.

If the teams end up being profitable via some revenue sharing agreement then NASCAR to the fans will be a much better product. Right now they cant do much with the cars because the teams cant afford anything. If the teams were profitable it would encourage outside investment too, which might be bad for the France family but good for racing
