@BlashmackАй бұрын
@@themaker2149 That is true, but in business you're also constrained by reality. Could be that they really wanted it but would have taken them too long before they had the infrastructure in place to really support a sales push with Mike. To sell shoes you need to build logistics, distribution, warehouses, contracts with stores, marketing channels, hire your people on the ground. Takes time to build the machine through which you let people know you have Mike's shoes and make sure you have enough of Mike's shoes stored and shelved where people can buy them.

Reason why Kobe left adidas because of the Kobe 2s they barely sold, they were so uncomfortable that kobe refused to play in them he paid 8 million dollars just to stop producing them, his years as a sneaker free agent he's been rocking some shoes like Jordans Reebok's even AND1 But Kobes go to shoe was Nike he signed but only wore the Nike shoes 3 years that's where he got his first Nike shoe.

This was about 1984. Nike was basically unheard of outside US if at all. Would rather go for Converse that time. Adidas was dominating outside of US, but the founder recently died and mgmt was chaotic that time. In the meantime, Adidas sees MJ as a "short" rookie still needing to prove himself in the Pro world. They would rather bank on a tall - center-type player. That's what separated the foresight of Nike vs. all the other brands at that very early stage.
