Fundamentally Reggie was really solid and this is coming from someone who idols Jordan , it would’ve been interesting to see where his potential would have led him , Reggie and Len bias are always gonna be the big what if’s for the Celtics

Reggie Lewis Averaged 17pts 4rbds 3 assts for his 7 year career. You call that well rounded? Reggie is over rated with too much I wish it was what it wasn't. The Bulls had a winning record against the Celtics in the 7 years he was in the league.

Those half-court flings that we saw from Jordan at 4:50 is one of the reasons why his 3 pt FG% isn't as high as it could have been. Players today rarely fling it from half-court, especially during the regular season (they are too concern about their shooting percentage). Players in the 80s and early 90s flung it from half-court all the time.
@getitworkalot8096
@getitworkalot8096 5 жыл бұрын
rex waller well they could afford to do it back then. They didn’t shoot as many threes. Guys like Harden are shooting 20+ threes in some games. Meanwhile MJ probably averaged less than 2 per game for his entire career. Shooting so few 3’s you can afford to fling it up.
@mskidi
@mskidi 5 жыл бұрын
@@getitworkalot8096 What? When you shoot 10+ threes per game, a single low percentage shot every couple of games will have an insignificant effect on your percentage. Its when you take 2 or 3 3p shots per game that your percentage will suffer greatly when one of 'em is a guarranteed miss. MJ, and the rest of those guys where taking the shots because thats what you are supposed to do if you are balling. There is time on the clock, you take the god damn shot. Modern players worry more about bussiness decisions and less about basketball.
@getitworkalot8096
@getitworkalot8096 5 жыл бұрын
mskidi it’s really not an issue. Shooting the ball beyond half court for a couple of seconds doesn’t impact the game at all. I think we’re being petty. I mean players like Steph, Lillard and Harden shoot from half court every night. I’ll also say players like Harden and Russ don’t care about their shooting percentages.
@getitworkalot8096
@getitworkalot8096 5 жыл бұрын
jocriss they cared about percentages then as well. That’s why they didn’t shoot as many 3’s. It was the coach’s system. Take smart, “high percentage shots.” Those shots were dunks. As great as a shooter as Larry Bird was he didn’t shoot nearly as many 3’s during his error. If he was allowed to shoot like Harden (he doesn’t care about percentages) he would have been averaging 30+ at least 5 times during his career. They said MJ couldn’t shoot but he rarely averaged more than 1 three per game during his career. The 3 years he averaged over 3 attempts he shot at least 37%. He just didn’t take those low percentage shots or even the big men. I’m pretty sure Ewing, Hakeem and DRobinson could have hit threes if they were allowed. It was about making smart shots. I don’t really have an issue either way because during that period MJ and his peers were really efficient and I feel now a days guys are efficient as well because of the older era. Of course you’ll have your Westbrook’s but every era needs a Westbrook.

Reggie Lewis was alive during the Bulls' first 3-peat. The Celtics with Bird, McHale & Parrish still active, finished first in their division more than once in the early 90's , they couldn't get out of first and second round even with home-court advantage. Len Bias would have been good enough to help save the Celtics from embarrassment in the first round but he would have made all their play-off exits even more disappointing.
