I will never forget July, 27th or what I was doing in 1993 when I heard. 28 years later, still hurts. RIP Reggie Lewis

Same. I was only 13, I remember watching that playoff game when he collapsed...and then hearing about him passing on the news. Sadly I got another reminder of it when my high school teammate died of the exact same thing in 1999. Only difference being that my teammate didn't know he had it.

I was 16. Watching a Red Sox game. Sean McDonough announced that Reggie collapsed and was in critical condition. About 15, 20 minutes later McDonough announced, Reggie Lewis is dead. Bonechilling.

Great player and a good person. The team fell apart after he died and it took a very long time before they were a good team again. Only one playoff appearance in 8 seasons after reggie died. Hope his wife and children are doing well.

if Reggie had lived to play throughout the 90s.. suddenly this would had been a different Celtics teams.. guys like Dee Brown, Dino Radja , David Westley and Rick Fox become the perfect role player with Reggie being the star...

I couldn't help but shed a few tears as I watched this video. In my opinion Reggie was one of the best players to ever play in the NBA! I'm not just saying that because he was my cousin, I truly feel that way. He gave 110 percent all the time on both ends of the court and that's what made him a special player. He left us way too soon and he is missed dearly😢 continue to rest champ and I'll see you on the other side! 🙏🏾

This was awful. They announced something happened and it was hours before they came back on tv and said Reggie died. All of us who had been calling each other - my grandfather ,my uncle, my mother - we all stopped calling after that. My God. Then the next morning it was very foggy out and I was driving to work and you got to cut through the projects to get there. And I saw was his little boy maybe 10 years old walking, opening a bag of chips at 8:00 in the morning and I can see through the fog The number 35 on the back of his white T-shirt and as I got closer I could see that he wrote it with a magic marker. I cried.

I am just old enough to remember Reggie Lewis. He was my favorite player back when I was a kid playing in the local school rec league. I still remember the night he hit a half-court shot at the halftime buzzer. And I will always remember when I heard he had died, much, much too young.

Unbelievable disrespect 🤬 Edit: Oh...& btw...coke had absolutely nothing NOTHING to do with his death. It was hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a structural heart defect! Idiot! Get your players straight!
@munkustrap2
@munkustrap2 5 ай бұрын
Funny how my comment proving you wrong disappeared! I'll say it again! Reggie died from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a structural heart defect. Also the doctor who performed Reggie's autopsy testified that the scarring on his heart was inconsistent with cocaine use, as well as other doctors reaching the same conclusion. One doctor makes something up to try & save his career & a pos paper writes a hatchet piece & you take that as the God's honest truth with no research of your own. Complete disrespect!

My above comment will probably disappear too since the truth hurts some people's egos. I call it as I see it.
