I have little doubt that he will be remembered as one of the greatest composers - in all genres not just film - of the latter half of the 20th century. His concertos for saxophone and electric guitar and full orchestra were truly revolutionary. Hard to believe he's been gone now for 15 years already. He was still in the prime of his career. So much great music that never came to be.

+Lauren M. I do not think they died. I think the second boy was saying "Take me with You," as in the song. The theme of everyone wants to be with someone, even if it is scary (such as walking on the ice), as for all of the characters in the movie who were vulnerable and needed each other. I thought the boys represented a sweet, innocent connection, and the kittens represented new beginnings. It had not occurred to me that the boys died but instead that they moved on together, into an unknown future, but with each other and with the comforts of love and caring (friendship, the kittens).
