Joe Girardi wasn't fired, his contract expired, and the Yankees chose not to retain or offer him another. Splitting hairs maybe but to me getting fired is when the manager gets canned in the middle of the season, or the middle of the contract and they have to pay the remains of the contract. Joe Torre's contract also expired at the end of 2007, and he wasn't offered another. Was he fired?

Don said it perfectly yesterday Hal and Cashman say they want to win championships and that’s the goal every year but their actions don’t match what they say! I have been screaming this for years now, judge a man by his actions not his words! If you believe Hal really wants to win can I ask you why do you believe this? Cashman hasn’t made one impactful trade at a deadline in years maybe more than a decade! They don’t care about championships they care about being relevant and competitive for the year so they can make profits they have an advantage no other team in sports except maybe the Dallas Cowboys has and that’s that their team name is a major brand and you don’t really have to do much to make profits! Hal and Jerry Jones who are both business men know this all too well, they don’t care about winning titles that’s a fans thing to them just making the playoffs is enough because it guarantees them a very profitable season!!!!

Easy to decipher: Kay was told that he could use the YES booth to rip players, to a degree, as long as he defends what the team is doing. And Billy Martin would have a better record. He was a much better game manager, who found ways to squeeze out runs and prevent runs. He might not be 10 games better than Boone, but he'd be better.

There is no player who holds his teamates accountable, they dont have a Posada that polices the club house, in the absense of that player, the manager has to take up the reigns and hold players accountable for lack of performance, hustle, etc. Bottom line, Boone is 100% responsible, because these players arent willing to move mountains for the nice guy routine.

I have been a baseball fan, since age 4. Normal procedure at this point is to fire the manager, as a scapgoat good or bad. Boone has lost control of the team. He won’t be fired. Probably won’t get rehired, if this continues, 4:29 Period. They are not this bad. You can handle things without ripping them publicly. Look at Alex Cora and Verdugo. I’d take Alex Cora in a NY minute. Boone-ie Gil bringing him out in 7th. Gil has never pitched this many innings and had TJ. The ball is in Cashman’s court. You are for once wrong. Michael Kay is not allowed to criticize Boone because he would get in trouble if he did and may even lose his job. As much as I disrespect Boone I have to agree with Michael here saying if they had a manager like Joe Torre, Joe McCarthy, Casey Stengel, Miller Huggins, or Billy Martin they would not be any better because this roster is crap except for Judge and Soto. Cashman is the real problem since he was the one who built this roster and obviously needs to go since he only has 1 championship in the last 20 years and none in the last 15 but as long as Hal is still there Cash has a job for life. In order for Cash to go Hal needs to sell the team but that won't happen if fans still show up to Yankee Stadium and fans still watch them on tv on YES. So if you want Cash to go stop showing up to Yankee Stadium and stop watching them on YES because it's just not worth watching them right now and maybe just maybe if fans stop supporting this team Hal will sell and the new owner will get rid of Cashman and Boone as well.
