The word “racist” is now so far away from the initial meaning. The real meaning of racism is the act of viewing others as lesser for having a different skin color. It’s despicable when you actually encounter racism. It’s also clear as day. There’s no gray area for racism. You know it when you see it. Donaldson was being a punk by calling Tim Anderson “Jackie”. That much is true. But it’s obvious that he was poking fun at him for comparing himself to one of the greatest American athletes ever. If you compare yourself to Jackie Robinson, you should expect people to make fun of you, sorry. That doesn’t mean Donaldson didn’t show bad judgment. We live in a society where people say Lord of the Rings is racist lol. The fact that he didn’t think somebody could interpret his comments as racist shows that he has terrible judgment.

Placating people who perpetrate this pompous nonsense perpetuates and encourages this contemporary brand of racism, whereby skin color is unassailably weaponized and everyone (e.g. MLB) is afraid of being called "racist" so they overtly (albeit wrongly) condone these contemptible baseless accusations. Tim Anderson is known to be a Chirper too. A world Class Chirper. He hangs on the rail and lets the opposition have it.... So maybe Josh shouldn't have said Jackie but my God for Anderson who chirps all the time and runs to the media. What a joke.

He wasn’t mocking Jackie Robinson. He was mocking Tim Anderson for calling himself the modern day Jackie Robinson because he wants to make the mlb more fun. Jackie Robinson was fighting for his life. Great discussion and handling of this fellows! Very informative. I feel that I understand Donaldson better and Tim Anderson too. I think probably regardless Donaldson made a mistake here but I also think that as much as he rubs others the wrong way the Yanks still needed and need his edginess even if this time around it backfired and motivated the white Sox to come back to life and destroy the yanks!
