I find that Joel Sherman 99% of the time feels exactly how I do on most Yankees topics. Thank goodness there is a voice of reason because so often the Yankees brass has seemed to have lost their way but are too proud to see it and/or say it!

Joel Sherman grew up in the same area of Brooklyn as me! And went to the same HS as me. As far as the Yanks… If we could get Bellinger, Soto and that Yoshinobu kid from Japan, I won’t ask Santa for anything else. I know this is HIGHLY unlikely…but I can dream. Cody would be a good signing because if Rizzo retires after 2024, you can move Cody permanently to 1B. Until then he can play CF. then when Dominguez comes back, he could be in CF. And Soto of course in LF.

Bellinger over Soto? These guys get paid for their observations? That may be the worst take ever! That’s not a hard decision. You take Soto over Bellinger any day, everyday. Give up some prospects to get him, assuming it’s not one of the top prospects and you work hard to get Soto signed long term. It’s a gamble, but it’s a gamble worth taking. Bellinger, in my opinion, is not a gamble worth taking at the price tag he will be at.

I grew up reading the Daily News(Lupica)because my best friend's dad from childhood worked for them and used to get us into Yankee games with his Press Pass. As I got older i switched to the NY Post because I fell in love with the daily SoDoku puzzles. It was here that I discovered Joel Sherman and Mike Vaccaro's writing. I have been a huge of you ever since Joel!

A Brian Cashman makes it to the Hall of Fame. It becomes a clown show in Cooperstown New York. If you want to put a GM in Napa G Michael’s put the whole 90s team together even part of the 09 team.
@2005CEO
@2005CEO 10 ай бұрын
Brian Cashman was the one who booked Mariano Rivera to be scouted back in the 90’s and his relationship with MO’s agent is what got him in pinstripes. Stick Michael and Bob Watson laid a great foundation for the 96 team but Brian Cashman was there along side them and put together the ‘98 team with almost an entire different roster from ‘96. His biggest misses were trading Mike Lowell, Gio Urshela and moving Ian kennedy instead of Phil Hughes. But Brian Cashman is probably the most successful GM in the history of baseball.

@@2005CEO G Michael’s is core 4. with Bernie Williams, so with a Cashman bring to the 98 team and G Michael’s trade for Tino and Jeff Nelson Paul O’Neill those 90s teams the Yankees just needed in name a GM and that was Cashman as timeframe to go

There were at least 10 games last season where the Yankees blew the lead in late innings which not only could have been won but should have been won. Therefore if they won those games we are talking about a 92 and 70 win season.

If you give a player a day off while in the middle of a hot streak because the computer said you should then you lean too heavily on analytics and DON’T make gut decisions. The Yanks will not win another WS as long as Cashman is GM. Mark my words.

I agree with you. When a Yankee player is on a hot streak, Boone needs to ride it out and not give the player a day off just because it is scheduled. Let the player have a say. This is terrible management on Boone’s part.

I think a lot of the best FA’s will stay away from the Yankees. They’re not the attractive place to play like they used to be. It’s a dysfunctional directionless team in the most stressful market in all of sports.

Hate when they use the word spoiled directed at Yankee fans. We haven’t won in 14 years. Spoiled? Lol and if they wanna say well they have a chance every year etc and they spend lots of money … if ya spend it on the wrong guys it doesn’t matter if ya spend a billion a year. Yankee fans spend the most money of any fanbase in mlb in terms of tickets , merch, concessions, parking all of it. Cashman and hal are the spoiled ones if ya ask me

Cashman is wayyy past his sell by date. Bad trades, bad signings and sitting on his hands when guys like Harper, Machado and Seager were available. He was even against bringing Dominguez up. The guy’s a joke. And this team and it’s fanbase will continue to suffer while he’s running things.

Did Kay have dental surgery right before he did this interview? He has an odd lisp. As for the Cashman presser, it was over the top, but it's blown way out of proportion by the media because there's no other news to report. Go sign a player, make a trade, do something more interesting than a rant.

Cashman is liable for the signing of G Stanton anyways. Why is he burning G when he’s the one who throws him $25MM every year. He signed G after his prime and after being smashed in the face with a fastball, and his body type is not built to last like a Cal Ripken’s, Stanton’s is more prone to physical deterioration. Besides, Cashman signed Donaldson and had to eat his contract. He doesn’t mention any of that. That makes him look bad.

Wrong. The Marlins signed Stanton to that bloated contract. Cashman traded for him.

These guys are the reason why the yankees suck. Is the same ish every year. Why not start wells, why not put florial at center until martian ready, go get soto for left field and they good to go. The old guys u cant expect them to be allstars again. They old, and is like they just want the typical yankee. Clean cut, blonde guy. Florial killed in triple a and the kids brought them back to 500. So how u reward the kids? By signing kiermier who was awful with tampa and injury prone? Reallt? Lol.. ill start florial there. And give perasa or peralta 3rd make them earn it. Now you have youth and speed and the do the little things to win. But you have a bunch of old guys who like pasta making these idiotic decisions. Look at baltimore they all young, tampa all young, toronto all young. You have to get young somehow if not u will be the knicks lol
