This song makes me feel so many emotions. But most of all it reminds me of the love I still have for my husband who passed last year. And his passing leaving me a newborn to raise alone has completely leveled my life and I don’t know how the next day keeps coming. Idk how the sun keeps rising and he isn’t here anymore. I’m a shell of a person trying to find my way as a mother thru the most devastating grief I could have ever imagined. Thank you for this song.

I shared this song with my dad before he died almost 5 years ago. He was crying at the lyrics, he was so moved by certain lines. He said it was one of the most beautiful and sorrowful songs he had heard in 30 years. He died within 2 weeks. The last song that touched him. I miss him. (Thank you the responses.) He was having a heart procedure the next day, already had filled out his PoA and will. He called friends crying the night before he died, he never called me or my sisters. I think he knew he was going to die and he couldn't tell us. I wish he would have. I have so many regrets. I'd give the world to hear him again. Feel the safety of having him hug me. Thank you to the 21 people who read about my dad. He really tried.

I had a similar experience with a new friend in college. We met in one of my classes and immediately started talking about everything. He was a budding young filmmaker and had just earned it apprenticeship what's Spike Lee! The last song we talked about was Jeremy by Pearl Jam. A haunting song in its own right, made all the more haunting for me oh, because the next day he was killed by a drunk driver. That memory will never not be associated with that song for the rest of my life. I'd only known him for scarcely a week before it happened. Still hurts.

We feel the need to have a purpose, there isn't one... other than meeting and loving and losing those that decided to join us along the way. You value your friendship with Nigel as you will with a handful of people in your life. The ones that go too early are the ones that came here just to be with you , what you have between you isn't of the material world, it continues. You can tap into that. Lirics: Did you ever want it? Did you want it bad? Oh my, it tears me apart Did you ever fight it? All of the pain So much pride Running through my veins Bleeding, I'm bleeding! My cold little heart Oh I, I can't stand myself And I know in my heart In this cold heart I can live or I can die I believe if I just try You believe in you and I In you and I In you and I In you and I Did you ever notice I've been ashamed? All my life I've been playing games We can try to hide it It's all the same I've been losing you One day at a time Bleeding, I'm bleeding! My cold little heart Oh I, I can't stand myself And I know in my heart In this cold heart I can live or I can die I believe if I just try You believe in you and I In my heart, in this cold heart I can live or I can die I believe if I just try You believe in you and I In you and I In you and I In you and I In you and I In you and I In you and I In you and I Maybe this time I can be strong But since I know who I am I'm probably wrong Maybe this time I can go far Thinking about where I've been Ain't helping me start

One of the most beautiful and haunting songs I’ve ever heard. It’s like a love song from someone who is closed off to love. Someone who wants it but doesn’t think they deserve it. And how pain can keep us from what we want the most❤️
@lovingneighbor23 жыл бұрын
I agree in a way. What if this person wants to be a good person just could never find the way. Instead they stayed in their ways of cold hearted. There so many lost ppl and Jesus showed us. He showed the way. Love like God because he loves you. He is our father. We exist because of him. Believe and love with child like faith without question love is real!

This song has gripped me and given me such bliss. I've planned my suicide twice, once in 2007 and then again in 2018. I nearly went through with each plan until something would interrupt that attempt, and I found myself losing each day, instead of living. And for the first year in twelve years, I'm in a healthy mental and emotional space. I had to start all over again, and this song reminds me of that day, 28th October 2019, when I decided to make the change. Thank you Michael. These times are tough but they are not forever. We can get better. Every day is a new start. You just have to put your running shoes on.

Give it all to Jesus , come and bow down , give him your pain , He will take it all away . One more thing I do to control the negative, insecure thoughts about myself is to analyze then , where do they coming from , how old are they ? Find out that moment when the pain started and start to heal from there ! To heal from anything you need to master forgiveness of yourself and people who hurt you . Forgiveness comes from a place of love. Love = God ❤️

Lizz Mebs Beautifully said. I wish there was a movie/series/music/book genre for this exact mood. I'd be interested in nothing other than that.

This is music that brings people together. Something that is missing in today's world. We need to look to what connects us rather than what separates us. Four months, 3.5 million views. There is a demand for music like this. Congratulations Michael, your music promotes harmony and fellowship.

As the son of addicts this song seems to move my entire world every time I hear it. Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I’m good. But I’m always thankful. Thankful for my life. Thankful for my addicted parents. Sometimes you just have to love people for who they want to be.

I don't think it's possible for me to express how important this song has been for my family as we navigate the terminal illnessez of two of our kids. It's on a playlist (along with several of Tom's other songs) that I play when I'm trying to calm myself from panic. It makes me feel more human and more okay with living through all of these human experiences. I hope you all find your way to this and other healing melodies in the moments when you each need them most. Hat's off to each of us for making it this far. Let’s see how far we can skip this thing called life down the road.

I haven't commented on anything on here in about 5 years, but this song and video brought tears to my eyes. Something about the connection between the boy and his father, the loss, and the beautiful melancholic melody playing in the background. I haven't listened to Michael Kiwanuka since 2012, but wow....am I glad I found him once more. Bless y'all

I suffer from depression and anxiety and this past year has been really tough. I've been in many dark places this year but whenever I'm suffering and feel like it's all hopeless I listen to this song. I cant describe how this song has helped me. Thank you❤

This year has been a little bit more complicated to some of us; I have been having a battle with depression my entire life, but I keep on tryin. I lost my granmother last year and this year some of my friends do to that stupid virus. You/We are not alone, dont ever give up.

Mr Sima You have helped me every bit as much as this incredible song - just knowing I’m not alone in the seemingly ENDLESS struggle! Thank you Friend
