Sam Bankman-Fried's focus was clearly not where it shouldn't have been, so it is no surprise that a luxury penthouse and other stuff could have been purchased without his knowledge. When you take a step back and assess the situation from a logical standpoint, it seems he was unfortunate. He did apologize.
