Yes the 22 is the gateway to the up and coming generation! We need more people teaching, that shooting can be fun and challenging and anyone can learn. I taught my nephew that was scared of guns to shoot. Just one day at a local range and he was hooked on shooting. He is an adult now and an avid hunter.

22 is the gateway. I started a month ago and have shot 2 matches now. Unbelievably addicting. For 700 bucks you can absolutely compete and win in the production class. Get yourself a CZ, the Ruger, Tikka or bergara and just go to it. The community wants to see you do well and come back. They're going to go above and beyond to help you out.

I started shooting NRL Hunter matches BECAUSE of Mike and Keeley's videos on their channel. I was fortunate enough to meet them last year in Mason Valley and Hunter couldn't ask for better ambassadors to the sport.

Regarding the TV potential for shooting sports, I had the very same discussion with a friend of mine on IPSC handgun a few years ago, and obviously we came up with no practical application, and it's GREAT to watch you guys from far away talking about the very same thing and Cortina actually going about making that happen for precision shooting.

....whatever happened to common sense : train & carry one in the chamber & loony-tooners - experimented with 45 years ago & proved a failure for those that shoot year-round in different weather & don'have the luxury of tooning before making shots that count.....simple,...no discussion necessary with common sense.

36:50 That whole "child choking" thing hits home for me with my son when he was 5 and stated choking on a piece of banana while him and I were out on a camping and fishing trip. I owe it to being a horned up teen in high school some 20 or so years earlier that I thought it would be a great idea to take "Child Care" as an elective my senior year because of the class being all girls (which it pretty much was, just myself and 1 other guy who had the same idea and 17 girls in the class). The moment I saw that my son was choking, everything from that class instantly flashed though my head and was able to go though the steps and alleviate the choking. Had it not been for me being 17 and thinking with the wrong head at the time, who knows if I would have been able to save my son, especially given that we were about 30min drive down a trail deep in the woods at a small pond with no one else there. Luckily, the rest of the first aid aspects were talk to me constantly while I was growing up because my mother was an TCRN (Trauma Nurse) with much of her early medial career as a paramedic. And yes, I can't agree more with the fact that the East Coast (or at least FL) sucks with regards to long ranges and PRS. Not sure why that is either since there is a good amount of open land in many areas... Granted we did have a private range with 2k yards open up not too long ago but its not something that I can see them setting up any sort or PRS / NRL matches at. It would be nice if there was more available and / or 22 stuff which I agree, would be a great gateway into making the sport much much larger.

I love the NRL Hunter Series. It is much more practical than PRS.

Having training is essential but equally essential is having a real comprehensive first aid kit with the ability to stop massive bleeding in more than one spot and the ability to treat shock. Most "first aid kits" are a total joke they are for bumps, bruises and papercuts. IFAK's are a must but if you need to treat more than one person or more than one injury they are not enough. Also don't assume that just because someone is conscious, talking, and seems OK after a car accident that they will stay that way as you go try to help another person. A man almost died because I thought he would be fine sitting in the drivers seat of his truck after he got in a crash with a motorcycle. He only had some cuts on his face and was complaining about a broken arm so I left him while I went looking for the guy riding the bike he hit, I never went back to check on him once I found the rider because he was in VERY bad shape. The driver passed out (from shock I assume) and damn near choked to death on his seat belt, a minute or two more and they would not have been able to revive him. Also if you ride a bike please for the love of God wear a helmet and either leathers or proper riding gear to protect yourself from road rash. Jeans and a sweatshirt last about .0001 seconds when they hit the pavement at 40mph and the results are pretty horrific.

Put the red Cross app on your phone has really made a difference for me . Even though I was trained and have a few runs where cpr was giving as a fireman. The app really will walk you through all kinds of situations and has a built in phone in the app.

I've been looking to get into PRS I've been looking all over online trying to find videos of matches or anything like that I agree if it can get on TV online as video in the whole matches you'll be a lot more

I work for a dot gov construction crew. One thing that some of our contractors do and are encouraged to do is contact local EMS before the project starts to inform them who they are, what they are planning on doing, where the project is located, potential emergencies, potential hazards throughout the construction site and points of entry/where someone will meet EMS to guide them through the project to the point of the emergency. It has been beneficial more than once to have this "heads up" and open discussion with local EMS. I could see this being helpful for shooting matches as well.

PRS had 8000 members 3 or 4 years ago. Now there is 6000. Has Fclass seen the same decrease.

.....lol....."guys are now doing what was the impossible 10 years ago"....fun stretch of the imagination,.....well, atleast with competition & basic majority attempting to, that may be true, but, 40 years ago the same discipline actually was used for training & practice back East - I know - positively, though a small circle & tight communications, (simply because the lack of in comparison to toady), so it went unheard of by most, if not virtually every one, so it seems,....lol..., that said - the ability was actually greater, only being harder due to the lack of optical technology, & even more so - availability. To us old timers,(whom are mostly gone now & I am just the youngest, about, of the "crowd), - we just figured it finally got out there/heard of, & spread - FINALLY !!! - I just live for it/LOVE it !!, ..... just REALLY wish these comps. existed to even 10% of this magnitude 40 years ago......lol....btw.....we shot 6MM's back then too, but, they died out in the real world (wind....lol), as I believe they will again, possibly - only to be saved with even better bullets & harder twists - time will tell & remains to be seen by you young guys.

Do to my job. Yes construction of wind turbines. We are required to have all basic first aid and CPR. This is all done by American Red Cross. I also serve in the military and we where required to have combat life saver. Witch is basic fist aid and cpr. Yes people do need that stuff up a tower and you are the help do to the safety equipment needed to climb the towers.

Yes another great video Erik. The 22 competition is great not only because brings new shooters into the sport but because also brings kids into the sport since is a easier or more friendly caliber to shoot for kids and kids are our future. What I will like to see is like more PRS or NRL matches at local clubs or local levels. Some of us can't afford to be flying to different states in the U. S. to participate and one. Also, it will be nice if a experience shooter, takes a new shooter or new to NRL to a match; compete as a team. That way the new shooter or new NRL shooter will learn about shooting tecniques/positions, the equipment, shooting stages, distances etc etc Get the new shooter started in the sport you know.
