When i was growing up, i used to visit my dad on weekends, he would come pick me up in his works van and i would spend the weekend at his house. Every year on the drive to and from his house, or anytime we was in the car together around Xmas, we would play a little game. If you see a Xmas tree, you have to start singing "5 gold rings" as loud as possible. Each time someone sees a Xmas tree you have to start again at 5 GOLD RINGS, this would inevitably lead to everyone in the car singing "FIVE" over and over again as more and more houses would have Xmas trees the closer to Xmas it got. Everyone out of breath and laffin whilst trying to get through to the end. LOL I never knew my dad til i was 6 years old, and then only saw him on the weekends, but those memories will stick with me as some of the happiest memories in my childhood.

Mine was Tickle Monster. It completely finished when the youngest folded her arms and said "Really? I think we're over it."

My favourite teachers were the ones that went that extra step to help me engage. I went to school in the 80's and early 90's. I had undiagnosed neuro divergence, mental illness and physical illness so school was extremely hard for me. Any teacher that helped me learn in an enjoyable way made all the difference. It's why I loved English and History. So thank you. I can't imagine how hard and draining your jobs are but that effort can make such a huge impact on a child's life. ❤

The time you are remembering for "Pants down your the loser", is at the end of "Ackle Ackinkacker" when he describes coming round from the operation on his tooth and showing his bare bum to his family. One of his boys says that to him.

The problem and risk of teaching kids about “pants down” is if they go to friends houses and think it’s fun to say it without explanation to other kids and then their parents think you are a bit weird.

If my long term memory, "pants down" was mentioned in McIntyre's dentist (which took him to hospital tooth removing surgery) stand up.

When my kids were little they loved to be frightened by the monster game. They would hide somewhere in the house and the lights would be turned off. Then my husband was the monster, he stomped around growling shouting the rhythm fee thi fum and open doors knowing they weren’t behind them but shouting got you, we always knew where they were hiding as you could here frightened giggling. When he found them they would scream the house down, but shout again again! After about five go’s we’d say that’s enough, we imaged our neighbours calling the authorities 😂

There's a longer one of the pants down routine. One of their kid's friends was visiting. It's hilarious.

There was someone who printed out a 'where's wally/waldo' book after Photoshopping out wally/waldo, it was such a great idea but oh so evil. My sister used to work in childcare, before and after school care, she had to entertain young kids for several hours each day, I don't know how she did it, I babysat my niece and nephew once a month and it took it out of me each time.

I used to deliberately lie to my kids. For instance; we were out walking in the park and my daughter said, "Where do shoes come from?". My answer was immediate, "Shoe trees". And lo and behold, not 2 minutes later we were walking under a tree, I spotted a pair of trainers someone had thrown up into the branches. I immediately pointed it out to my daughter, "This is a shoe tree". A week or so later she was disabused of this fact at school. She came home much annoyed at me. But we both ended up laughing. My children got into the habit of fact checking me. I thought that was a good thing.

Teach your children how to sell drugs. Ounces, grams and pounds. Once you introduce kids to the tedium of measuring out weights, they’ll avoid it for the rest of their lives.

Jodi?....keeping them off their phones?....surely you don't allow the use of phones in class without them being confiscated for the day or week...

Hahaha. I wish. Teaching is a whole different ball game in the States. Parents demand their kids have their phones on them. In fact, parents text their kids throughout the day.
