The 'not being able to share it' part made me feel the loneliest I've ever felt in my life. I wanted to cry. I was experiencing revelations and beautiful images, a symphony of blended colours, sound, ideas. A world of amazement being unveiledinside me. All of this beauty was unfolding inside my mind and then it occurred to me, no one can see this. No one will ever know this. All this beauty you're experiencing, it is of no consequence and I felt a solemn realisation that at the end of the day, it's just you and God. You and the universe. I imagine it's the same feeling when you're dying and slipping away. People are around you but you are really alone in your experience

Hi J, it is understandable you wish to share the experience with others and especially so with those whom are closest to you. However, there are some things in this experience we call life that 'needs to be addressed within ourselves'. One of life's biggest mysteries, and is often mishandled and misinterpreted by religions and mystics, is the (human spirit), and what this actually means. Our physical bodies are simply vessels that hold each of our spirit (life force). As we are born and develop our own personalities, tastes, needs and wants throughout our life, we often forget that this (life force spirit) inside each of us, is connected to the Universe, and all things past, present and future. Our spiritual experiences are our 'own'. We may share them with others through human speech, but often words in language are 'too simplistic' to even begin to describe the beauty and connectedness that exists, and has always existed. A person is rarely ever the same, often for the better, by seeing only a glimpse of something far greater than themselves. It could be stated that there are some experiences that need to be ventured, ‘alone’. However, in actuality… you are 'never' alone. Hope this brings you solace knowing that many of us have also experienced what you’ve described.

Having experimented with psilocybin I can fully understand the want to express the spiritual side of the high. Even know, a few years down the line there's the vestiges of emotional memories that recall the warmth, love and acceptance of creation and it's utter beauty. Honesty, I do question the wisdom of making such experiences effectively illegal. Yes they can be dangerous if abused, but the flip side of that is the connection you feel to the greater whole, which is very therapeutic imo.

its so weird watching people who are middle aged but arent experienced drug users trip in a fucking laboratory environment without music or mates or anything haha

Ed - That's right, people like to walk around when they take drugs notably the countryside to be connected to nature.

What really surprised me about Psilocybin from watching this program, is that it actually subdues parts of the brain rather than stimulating them.

I have taken psilocybin in the form of tea brewed from Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms and I must admit, at a moderate dose I found the experience to be wonderful and fun.

@Thehatedtruth He got sacked from his job as a drugs researcher and policy adviser for researching the effects of drugs and then telling people what his research had found. ... you couldn't make it up.

@SuperAntisocialite The hallucinations are part of oneself. It's a well documented function of the brain that can arise under disorders, too.

@ashmontana I don't talk about any schizofrenic (sic) traits. I'm talking about schizophrenia, a mental disorder, which causes the onset of hallucinations. I know first hand how a schizophrenic acts and how they treat themselves and the world around them, as my father suffers from this disorder. Your comparisons and belittlement of the disorder is absolute nonsense and you should consider your own advise - "do your own research":

@ashmontana You can apply the same logic to schizophreniacs. They see "almost the same signs" during their hallucinations, despite not having taken any kind of drug to alter their mind.

@Undifmanifest Having experimented in psychedelics myself I can most definitely talk of the dangers both physically & mentally & spiritually. I definitely know better then this guy without a doubt. If people REALLY knew the dangers they wouldn't do it when they are safer ways to establish the rising of consciousness & responsibility.

@ashmontana So you're telling me my own experiences with my dad are not "the truth"? Are you telling me it's not "the truth" that he was violent and completely out of touch before he started his medications? How about you push your ego aside and learn from someone who has first hand experiences with a schizophrenic? If you weren't drugged up maybe you'd realize just how much you're insulting me right now. OTOH, some of the stuff you say is hilarious … Mixed emotions.
