Attended Nyman's performance of this, and the rest of the film score 40 years ago in a church in London. I applauded ecstatically, standing. Michael beckoned to me and greeted me. Then he signed my D.C record😅 I shed a tear re-living that with this.

To be fair, I listened to it again and no, it's just ugly. Kind of reminiscent of a bad Bach rendition from the '50s.
