All players want to call a club home at tbe end of their career. James Milner has played for 4 clubs but he will call Liverpool home after he has retired even though he grew up a Leeds fan. Owen calls himself a Liverpool fan but you don't see LFC bringing out the red carpet for him like they will do for Milner. And the reason is simple. He played for United. Matt Busby, a legend, captained Liverpool but he will not be high on the list of LFC's VIPs because he managed United and made them a force. RIP Busby.

Real Madrid didn't accept Liverpool's bid, and they accepted Newcastle's bid. Not if Owen didn't sign for Newcastle, he would go to Liverpool, that's false.
