When I see these two together, or any of the six in question, it’s not about Monty Python. It’s about the friendship they shared in real life. That’s what makes the comedy so good. That’s what makes any entertainment team as good as Python was, no matter the medium. It’s a bond. Nuffsed.

This was originally written for The Frost Report in 1967, where it was done by John Cleese (the interesting man) and Ronnie Corbett (the man from Hendon). Then it showed up in The Two Ronnies in the 70s, this time with Ronnie Corbett as the interesting man and Ronnie Barker as the man from Hendon.

A bunch of young Spurs fans in Canada had been to London on their first trip. I asked them where they had been apart from the old WHL and Wembley. They described this really welcoming club that they got to on the train. The lightbulb in one of the heads went on “Hendon!” Hendon obviously made an impression on them.

I'm offended. I was born in Hendon in the 50s and it was very exciting. Your chances of being caught by Teddy Boys and being thrown down a pit were very high, and you had to cry really loud before they would give in and let you go home for tea.............. In the Wesh Harp, which most people call Brent Reservoir, there were fish (some say they were pike and some say catfish) which would pull ducks underwater and swallow them.
