The acoustic guitar hole was covered to reduce the live guitar sound. The acoustic guitar had a pickup that went in straight into the mixer. If he didn't cover the guitar hole, the guitar sound would leak into the vocal mics a lot more making mixing/balancing/equalising/isolating the guitar sound sooo much harder.... FYI.

They, BuDaKhel, have live cellphone video footage of them jamming with the same fabulous guitar player using the same guitar. The acoustic sound of the guitar is strong. That is why in a live audio/video recording scenario with multiple vocal mics close to the acoustic guitar... He chose to cover the acoustic guitar hole.

First, I just want to say great reaction! I asked myself the same question about that paper looking thing in the guitar’s sound hole and this is my theory. I believe that the thing in the sound hole makes the percussion produced a higher in pitch and a bit subdued. If it were not there, the percussive strikes on the guitar would be the typical lower pitched thump that we are all familiar with. Such a sound might be be too loud and take attention away from the voices. The use of electronic drums makes sense to me as much as I like acoustic/traditional drums. They’re in a small space to begin with, and if a traditional drum set were used in that space, it would be very difficult if not impossible, to control its volume. Sorry, I can’t answer your question about how it feels to play those type of drums. I’m not that kind or percussionist. 😅 Thanks! I’m going to hit the subscribe button after posting this. 👍

I think the girl Ryssi Avila is under 5 feet tall. She has a KZbin channel and is a talented soulful singer. She does some other songs with Michael check out Nadarang where he sing and raps. The singer in the middle is not Daryl but another talented singer. If you notice that all the band performances on the WishBus use the Roland electronic drum kit which you customize to the tones of a drum sound. The acoustic guitar is amplified usually with two types of pick ups that communicate the sound electronically to the mix. Usually there is a the pick up takes up the vibrations of the strings from a strip under the bridge and some guitars also microphone or use soundhole pick up to take another sound to the guitar mix like a left and right stereo sound. Other sound hole covers help to reduce feedback as someone else described.
