thanks for being honest, I think Michael has some very endearing attributes, he took on his duty as godfather and raised those two girls as his own they truly love respect and trust Michael, not one person was able to say that his relationship with his wife was bad, he had real concerns about the community and durham and the plight of blacks in the area, these traits are not consistent with being a narcissist or psycho. His kids were truly devastated at the point of guilty verdict and his immediate response was to look back at his daughters and comfort them, it shows that his head was not up his own arse. I think he may have done it, but it was manslaughter at worse. he achieved one of the greatest things in life to raise loving respectful and caring children and to do that with to stepchildren who under his care at the drop of a hat shows heart.

His wife is dead, and yet he still manages to make it about himself. Guilty. I do not believe in coincidences. Both Elizabeth and Kathleen found dead at the bottom of the stairs, Peterson being the last to see either of them. Nah. Even with the Netflix series being completely biased and one sided, I never for one second believed that he was innocent.

"The autopsy report concluded that the 48-year-old woman sustained a matrix of severe injuries, including a fracture of the thyroid neck cartilage and seven lacerations to the top and back of her head, consistent with blows from a blunt object, and had died from blood loss 90 minutes to two hours after sustaining the injuries." There was no pipe used (Lee was right) the killer fractured her neck cartilage with his hand/thumb and banged her head against the fairly thin metal railing and wood stair case. This would leave plenty of blood yet no skull fracture. NO OWL, NO PIPES.

When I was 18 my neighbour killed his wife that way. He was schizophrenic. He grabbed her by the throat and bashed her head against the kitchen wall. We were there when the police took him away. He was COVERED in blood, there was a lot on his head and face too. I don’t know a lot about this case only watched the doc but from what I saw that day of the exact same attack I would expect to see a blood trail from him, hand prints, foot prints, blood where he ABSOLUTELY would of had to wash himself and change then clean all that up too but I don’t think they found anything to say he cleaned up. He does come across as kind of odd and honestly like he’s lying about something so I’m not sure of his innocence. This is just my opinion on that scenario.

I think the comments here prove that 99% of the people who are utterly convinced he killed his wife are people who just don't like his mannerisms. He comes across as detached and "above it all" and a bit of an intellectual showoff and that clearly grates on people. But think about it: he was in jail for eight years and his mannerisms never changed, even when all hope appeared to be gone. No one in his family, not even his mortal enemy sisters-in-law, have ever suggested that his mannerisms changed after Kathleen's death. If anything, they've suggested that he must be brilliant at hiding his true nature because he behaves the same now as he did before. Don't you think his kids would have gotten weirded out if their dad suddenly started putting on some kind of stilted charade? Face it, this is the way the guy has been his whole life; it's not an act. The reason his kids and friends don't "see through" his odd behavior is because it isn't odd to them, and being quirky and detached and obnoxious doesn't mean he's a murderer.

There is something totally OFF about this guy. So MUCH was left out of the documentary that explains a MOTIVE AND MEANS. He was broke, she had the money, his two sons were thousands in credit card debt she refused to settle, finally Michael called his EX and begged her to mortgage her house and settle their debts. The one son hated Kathleen and REFUSED to talk to police. He eventually spent 4 years in Federal pen for making a pipe bomb and planting it at Duke Un. (some deal about his ID) another patholgist says Kathleen also had trauma to her throat where she had been choked, and likely her killer OR killers repeatedly banged her head against wooden stairs creating lacerations. His footprint in blood was found on back of her pants, at some point she stood up and slipped on blood before being finished off. THE ONLY person with income was Kathleen $145,500 salary ,he did not have much in assets. The house was in bad repair, the fence around pool was broken and house was not being maintained. IMO he killed in a rage or his son did and they colluded to cover up. His son I think it was Todd was THERE when police arrived. The ONLY reason Petersen is not still in prison is because the MORONIC FBI agent Deaver perjured himself and totally screwed up the evidence ad he had on at least 35 other cases. More than one person walks free because Deaver lied about evidence and some were set free or new trials granted as with Michael Petersen. The guy is CREEPY!! Sociopaths and psychopaths and narcissists can lie and act and people believe them. Because of DEAVER and mistakes made in investigation of original crime -- Petetson lives on.

An Italian lady who does statement analysis came up with an explanation why there was little or no cast off blood in the area surrounding the staircase. It was because there was no weapon. Michael Peterson bludgeoned his wife by holding her in his bare hands and smashing her head against the staircase steps and wall baseboards. He hit her against these items hard enough to create the cuts on her head but not hard enough to crack or crush her skull.

Anything is possible, Cat. But just imagine Michael being outed by his wife for his extramarital sexual behavior. He flies into a rage when Kathleen threatens divorce, knowing that she is presently his only source of income. What does a enraged person do? In my mind I don't think they go searching the house for a weapon, an enraged person will immediately strike out, and my belief is he grabs her, shakes her, maybe slaps her. These actions could cause them to become unbalanced and they both fall to the ground. Still holding her by the shoulders he keeps shaking her, he wants her to stop saying the things he doesn't want to hear. The difference is they are on the floor, on the steps of the staircase. He continues shaking and subsequently banging her head on the edge of the steps of the staircase and the rest we all know.

Mark, Wouldn't it be the best if he just signed in as some woman on KZbin and told the truth? Like, "oh...perhaps he grabbed a forked garden tool and hit her as she was walking in the house from behind. Just a guess.... a theory, really. Then she started running for the stairwell to get away and maybe perhaps he hit her a few more times till she went down and then he tried to choke her and I don't know maybe after that he staged the scene while she was laying there dying for 2 hours... again it's just a guess". ;^)
@markrota7708
@markrota7708 6 жыл бұрын
Confessions are always welcome! The evidence really doesn't point to an outside attack. Yes a drop of blood was found near the home entrance, but all of the rest of the blood was confined to the lower end of the staircase. You're right, she must of lived for quite a while until he finally called 911. The blood on the staircase was apparently quite dry by the time paramedics arrived. This all points to a spontaneous rage type murder. Blood was found on the bottom of her shoes. This evidence suggests he attacked her twice. After the first attack she got up and stepped in her own blood, then seeing she was still alive he attacked her again.

CountryBoy32665 - he called 911 because it was part of his plan. Look at the autopsy report. You will discover in the report that she was strangled and had a crushed thyroid. Failing down the stairs doesn’t strangle you or crush your thyroid. It could break your neck and fracture your skull. Anyone can manipulate anyone and the wedding ring was part of that manipulation. The Netflix film did not disclose any of the other findings from the autopsy and it’s not until the last two episodes that you discover that there was more to the autopsy than the film makers wanted you to see. Just because he’s a veteran, doesn’t mean crap. He served in the military .. there are a lot of corrupt people everywhere even those in a uniform or not.

I have noticed a common response of accused persons who are most likely guilty. They say "I didn't do ANYTHING"- using the most broad-non/specific word possible. Here Peterson also says "EVERYTHING the prosecutor said was wrong." Of course, neither of those can be true. Peterson did SOMETHINGS (whether legal or illegal) and EVERYTHING the prosecutor (or anyone else) says is not false- even if his theory of the case does not confrom to reality. Later Peterson does say "I did not hurt Kathleen" which is more specific but those I have seen interviewed who are obviously innocent most often are more specific "I did not kill her""- or at least they don't use the "I didn't do ANYTHING" phrase- which sounds much like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I think the "ANYTHING" stands for "anything I wasn' justified in doing" in the accused's mind.

The scariest part of this whole thing isn’t that this guy brutally murdered his wife. As heinous as that is. It’s the fact that he also murdered his adopted daughters’ biological mother in the exact same fashion. And then brainwashed the two young girls to the point where they were on HIS side in the murder of their biological and adoptive mother. That’s pure psychological enslavement if there ever was. This man is one of the most evil men to ever have lived. Also one of the most talented liars I’ve ever seen. He just oozes with self satisfaction and self pity. After I finished watching the Netflix series I believed Michael Peterson was innocent, but having done some further reading I realise a lot of evidence was left out. I also think both Michael and Todd were lying. What I can't work out is what the motive was. If it was Kathleen's life insurance policy then pretty much all of that would've been spent on his legal defence (and not all of it went to him anyway). I can't believe money was the sole motive. So what was it? I'm also intrigued that David Rudolf still maintains Michael's innocence. As a lawyer he would not need to risk his reputation by explicitly stating such a belief - he must have a reason to do so, whatever it might be.

Ags Connolly I’m sure he didn’t plan on needing to spend any money on his defense. It’s likely he did it before in Germany or at least witnessed a similar death and it was considered an accident and that was the end of it. I’m sure that’s what he planned would happen here.

I also think that he is innocent of the murder. However, I do think that he isn't telling the truth in its entirety. Bled for 6 hours. So if a a 2 pound owl came swooping down at 25 miles and hour and clawed her head 2-3 times, that without a doubt is more than enough to cause massive amounts of bleeding from her scalp. She could have tried to go upstairs to see the damage not realizing how bad it was and collapsed or slipped. Blood will certainly be everywhere if this happened like this.

You are not informed about the outrageous lies and perjury committed by the lead expert for the prosecution. Petersen was convicted because of this false evidence. So his options were a retrial (risky because people were also outraged that he was bi-sexual and that tainted their view) or the Alford plea. You are not admitting to guilt if you take the plea- you are acknowledging that the risk of a re-trial is too high (not to mention stressful, exhausting and expensive) and so are taking the plea. Someone who takes the plea is still registered as a convicted felon.

Michael Peterson killed no one. This could happen to any of us. What is very striking to me was the fact that Owl feathers and hair pulled out by the roots was in Kathleen's hand. If you Google this, it has happened many times. This would clearly explain the injuries to her scalp. There was a drop or more of blood outside the front door. I don't know that this happened of course, but so she went up the steps with a blood alcohol of between 7 and 10% at the time of the fall, will blood dripping and making things slippery. Michael Peterson did not beat his wife. Show us a weapon that could have been used that did not damage to the skull yet caused her death? None of this is even plausible. It is such a shame and the lying, falsifying of evidence in court, etc. This man should have never even been accused or went to trial. So you mean an accident happens in your home and you are automatically guilty of something? Listen, "this could happen to any of you." So make sure you keep that in mind when you attempt to judge. In regards to his emotions, can you even imagine how much sorrow he has already dealt with from the time of Kathleen's death till the time of this video? All the possible mourning and grief has been shed already. Of course you are sad about things, sad about your situation and loss. But a man of his age is just not going to start boo hooing at every little thing.

Hi. Peterson's 911 calls were completely fake. He hung up on both 911 calls when each of the 911 operators were asking questions to assess the situation to relay that information to the paramedics who were on the way. peterson 1st call to 911 was at 2:40. His 2nd call was at 2:46. Paramedics arrived at 2:48. So peterson finds his wife at 2:39 after sitting outside by the pool for over an hour. 10 minutes elapse between his discovery of Kathleen and the arrival of the paramedics who find peterson cradling his beloved Kathleen. The impression might be that peterson was in shock and immobilized for those 10 minutes and would not leave Kathleen's side. Is that true? No. There was blood on the front door that was ajar when the paramedics arrived. There was also some blood on the ground just outside the front door. peterson went to the 2nd floor and brought down a bath towel and placed it under Kathleen's head. He also grabbed a roll of paper towels from the kitchen. His bloody shoe print was found on the back of Kathleen's sweat pants and she was face up when when the paramedics arrived so peterson moved her. At an extremely bloody scene peterson decided to take off both of his shoes and socks. Blood was found on a cabinet in the kitchen. Finally when the police investigators sprayed the adjacent kitchen floor that looked clean, with luminol it showed michael peterson's bloody footprints on the kitchen floor and into the laundry room. So peterson in those 10 minutes was a busy boy including getting on his hands and knees and removing his bloody barefoot prints from the kitchen floor and laundry room and not clinging to the deceased Kathleen. michael peterson is a monster. Most of the information written above was deliberately left out of the schlockumentary "the staircase" by the director jean xavier delastrade.

Michael hit the jackpot with those for quite awhile! Even more so with Kathleen millions in benefits from her executive salary and position.only, darn, she was getting laid off. What to do ,vwhat to do.......The golden goose was running out of gold. But if she died by "accident" even more money! Only Kathleen had a daughter who changed her support (Mike had all four of the other kids badger her after his lies no longer worked) I think she got a judgment in a $25 million wrongful death suit though I don't think she'll get anything. Recently Todd Peterson did a video when his mom died and said he finally realized his dad WAS a serial killer! That as his mom was dying Mike waited three hours before calling 911. Immediately after his mom died, everything went missing her property, money, etc. and he showed a list of everything his Dad took, he said all of it was about the money, everything. I think he's right, just look at the trail of death with Mike's rainbow of money at the end of each one!

I would like to hear what a body language expert would say about him. Does anyone know if it has been done. At the end of this video. his expression and how he covers his mouth with his hand,. In my opinion, this action showes his guilt.

Why he dont mention what all we expected? To lose your wife and then being sentenced for her death is hell. Something. Nothing.... and he cant hold the eye contact only when talk about here. Its pretty obvius no one hurts in this way with those wounds in the head... was she walking down stairs at... 50km/per hour...?

I dunno, if I was truly innocent I’d be fucking livid. It’s like he’s still putting on a show. I was thinking he might be innocent and then realized how much shit was left out of the series. I think there’s enough reasonable doubt that maybe he should have been found not guilty but that doesn’t mean innocent

@@Scorch428 His motive was her money and assets. There is no proof that Kathleen uncovered Michael Peterson's hidden lifestyle that night and confronted him and a fight broke out and he murdered her. The prosecution put this out there at trial as what most likely happened. The prosecution had it wrong. Oh yeah Peterson murdered Kathleen but he didn't act on the spur of the moment. He planned the whole thing. 100 % preplanned, premeditated murder. Michael Peterson is a twisted psycho.

I wish the autopsy revealed bruises to other parts of the body other than the ones on the head. if so, it would show where his wife was hit and the position of the head injury. the injury to the head is on several Mark's and thus other parts of the body would indicate coherent position. stairs can be fatal especially with steep stairs shown. I have a feeling he is innocent
