The Solomonic knot has been untied. At least as far as this interpretation is concerned. Beautiful and to the point! As a German, it makes me just as proud that our Christmas carols are loved, played and sung all over the world as it makes me ashamed that my ancestors brought so much suffering to the world. One of the most beautiful of all Christmas hymns, and one that lends itself really well to choral and orchestral arrangements. In Sweden, where I'm from, it has been a standing item around Christmas for centuries. ✴ 🌹
