I used to be 365lbs...a truly big girl. I would get so mad at doctors for blaming all of my issues on my weight, right down to catching a lot of colds every year. I always thought they were just being lazy. Turns out that they were right! When I lost the weight, my reproductive system went from being so sporadic to the point that I was told that I was going through early menopause in my 30s to being able to set my calendar by my periods when I am now in my 40s. I went from bronchitis and multiple bad colds every year to maybe 1 sniffles. I was starting to have issues with my bladder, and the weight loss fixed that. I was heading to diabetes quickly, and my sugar numbers are fantastic now. The doctors aren't there to make you feel better mentally...that's your job...they are there to fix your body, and your body's biggest problem is that you are suffocating all of your organs with all of the FAT. Stop trying to silence the people telling you that you need to lose weight...start listening to those voices, but make your internal voice even louder, and have that voice tell you to put down that cake, drop the body fat, and pick up a set of weights.

What’s funny is that with the first video, the lady used the clip of the "skinny girl" doing a suggestive dance, and then said "now that I have your attention…" She knows the dance is inherently sexual, and will get the attention of men. Yet she says that when the fat person does it, it’s not inherently sexual. I’m confused, does she want us to think fat people are sexy or not?

If you follow any of their arguments for longer than 20 seconds, they 100% always contradict themselves or say things that are mutually exclusive. I've got a coworker who is just like that woman. She's incredibly intelligent, but you can see her eyes glaze over when she talks about politics. I remember when I first started losing weight and a cashier who saw me frequently noticed and said, "I'm not sure if I can say this, but you're looking good! You've lost weight, haven't you?" and I smiled and said that yes, I'd lost quite a bit and was still working on it. She looked so relieved that I wasn't offended and I'm still baffled as to how a sincere *compliment* of any kind can be offensive!?
@elfdogre2181
@elfdogre2181 Жыл бұрын
I think many overweight people are inwardly really down on themselves for being overweight, so any compliment from someone seems like an insult to them. My younger sister has this problem. I complimented her after seeing her for the first time in a few weeks as she had been on vacation to Europe. What I had said was, "you look happy." I then had to endure her tirade about how dare I comment on her weight, at the end of which I replied, "I hadn't, but ok" and walked out the door.

If you are ever unfortunate enough to be stuck in the social orbit of people who think they're all that, won't speak to you, deliberately leaving you out, pretend they don't see you in public, and so on.... let me just tell you, it TICKS me off when I've lost a few pounds and suddenly start getting 'approving' comments from these jerks. A few pounds overweight and you could die of loneliness.... surrounded by those same people. I'm always tempted to tell them "I'm just as unpleasant as I always was, condensed". The cashier though, sounds like a casual acquaintance who was happy for you.
@sarochiel
@sarochiel Жыл бұрын
@@marym922 Casual acquaintance, yes. And I'd lost 80lbs. 😁 Blimey, I know what you mean though. There are people I've known (to see, but not to talk to) who are friends of friends etc, and they haven't said anything to me since I've known them, and then they come up to me telling me I look "good" or "healthy" and never say anything again. Why even bother, mate? Just keep ignoring me. 😂 (I'm an introvert, so honestly just keep ignoring me)
@jb6712
@jb6712 Жыл бұрын
The stupidity behind anyone being offended by a compliment is, from what I've read on various sites, is that "No one should be complimenting anyone's appearance because you have no idea what they've been through, or are going through, and even though you think you're being kind, you're not." If someone I see only occasionally notices my weight loss (a work in progress right now) and says something nice about it, you can know that I'll be climbing up onto the nearest roof and shouting my joy from up there (virtually, of course, not literally)!! It would make me super happy that anyone would notice I've been working hard to get healthier and lighter!

Unfortunately, as much as I understand that being overweight is a genuine health problem that desperately needs to be addressed, I also think there are some doctors out there who make people feel very small because they are overweight. I remember a doctor visit from about 12-15 yrs ago (during a time when I was about 10lbs overweight) and when the doctor came in he looked down at my chart where the weight was listed, back up at me, then back at the chart. He then proceeded to tell me “Wow, I was expecting a massive morbidly obese person, but you actually look healthy at that weight.” He then proceeded to tell me what diet and exercise he would have prescribed to me if I wasn’t from dense-boned heavily muscled stock that makes me 20-30lbs heavier than other fit people even when I have 0 fat on my body. I was there for a sinus infection and walked out feeling shamed for my genetic line.
@rfq1264
@rfq1264 Жыл бұрын
@@ghostwriter4565 huh, if you're 20-30lbs more than considered fit people in your height, and its not because of fat Also considering the bone density don't affect significant role in body weight, then you're must be a very muscular person. That's a bodybuilder wet dream to have a genetic like you. And how's the doctor expect a morbidly obese person if you're 10lbs overweight of your body chart?

You easily lose weight by getting brown fat. Kids were born with brown fat. Brown fat makes lose weight faster. But people eat a lot of sugar, salt, alcohol, and smoke. these things cause toxins. The toxins cause the brown fat to disappear. the brown fat turns to white fat. You can get back the beige fat. Beige fat also helps to lose weight but a little slower than brown fat but it works. You have to eat vegetables, fruits, and healthy stuff to get brown fat. Also showering for 5 minutes in cold water or wearing less warm sweaters helps to increase the beige fat. Also drinking a herbal tea like green tea helps too.

I got tired of being called fat so I did something about it. it took 3 years to drop 110 pounds. Everything about me changed for the better. It wasn't easy, to start but I did it doing 3 minor workouts a day, One in the morning, once after lunch and once after dinner. After three months, it just became a routine habit. I ate a lot of protein to help build muscle mass and stopped eating after 5 pm at night. I am still large but my body is not flabby anymore. From what I understand, the reason TikTok tries to censor the larger lady “dancing” is because the software is searching for exposed skin, not anything else. So because there is more skin to see, the algorithm gets confused and assumes she’s nude, the color of her shirt probably doesn’t help.

I believe it is because of how much of her thighs were exposed. The "fit" woman had her thighs pretty well covered where the "larger" woman had her shorts pulled up above her thighs into the skin fold. So I agreed with it because 1 vid has her covered like a person walking down the street where the other one looks like she is in underwear because her shorts are pulled up exposing her full thigh area.

"Exercise Physiologist" means she should be a physical therapist, physical rehabilitation specialist, or kinesiologist or possibly a cardiac rehabilitation specialist. All programs that teach about how being overweight is detrimental to your joints and overall health. If she is doing nothing more than "managing gyms" then she either has no actual degrees/certifications or she is so intolerable and insufferable that no actual medical facility will hire her. Requires no special degrees to "manage a gym", though business degrees go a long way.

Doctors aren’t there to be your friend. They are there to be an advocate for your health, oftentimes in spite of the patient’s insistence on doing things counter to their good health. And honestly it’s mainly folks who are dead set on not caring about their weight who get offended when it’s brought up. People trying to better themselves tend to want to bring it up to measure how they are progressing, to hear the doctor encourage their good decisions and provide validation that the tough choices have begun to produce better health outcomes for them. The doctor is there to be your partner in achieving the healthiest version of yourself that you can manage. That means getting the harsh reality check we often need at times to shape up.

@@RedroomStudios not a misprint. Most of my 20s I was like 145. Size 30 pants, M sized shirts (S fit better in the chest but shoulders and torso length would be off). I struggled to put on weight, very small appetite (still is, I just can’t eat large portions). Was never into sports for a pretty good reason (I started school way early, graduated high school at 16 instead of 18, was always super small compared to my peers and outclassed athletically so gave up trying). I got up to 158 past 30 just by getting older I guess. Now I’m at 180, goal is to try to be in the 195-200 range while still being this body fat %.

In the summer I had a choice between wearing shorts and being mentally uncomfortable or wearing trousers and being physically uncomfortable. I quit archery because I was scared of having to loosen my arm guard because of weight gain. Body dysmorphia is really horrible. I think people with it should get the grace to be allowed to express their feelings about their body without being shamed for being fatphobic. And most people with body dysmorphia don't care about any body other than their own. The fatphobia is most likely directed at themselves.

That IS true, but I wouldn't say the fat one is sexual. When I think of the word "sexual" it kind of interlinks with someone being physically attractive, and because of that physical beauty, I want to have sex with that person (or other people want to have sex with that person, bc I'm a straight woman and have zero interest in having sex with a woman). I'm a fatty, so I don't know if I can let you into our club unless you meet the fatty criteria. ;) Love yourself, warts and all. I had an appointment with my PCP ten days ago. The first thing he said when he came in and shook my hand was "So what happened that you put all this weight back on?" I had successfully lost 66 pounds, but over the course of 18 months I had put 72 pounds back on. He was going through a painful, nasty divorce at that same time and hadn't noticed such minor things in his patients as weight gains and losses during that time. Now I'm back on the keto plan---the only thing that works well for me---and am on my path to losing that 72 pounds, as well as the other 50 I need to lose. But at least he has the guts to say something, and then to support me when I told him I'm back on the keto plan. He hadn't liked that in the past, but it works for me, so he said to continue.

I don't think it's fat phobia, but I've had doctors treat me a certain way because I'm overweight. I went into planned parenthood for a pregnancy test and possible yeast infection. At the end of the visit, the nurse handed me a "pamphlet" which was a piece a paper, printed from a website, folded in half with my BMI and what a healthy BMI should be. Another instance, I was having fertility issues and went to see a doctor, who told me I shouldn't want to get pregnant being "as big as I was," and refused to help me until I lost 50lbs. I think if you go into the doctor's, the doctor's job is to judge you. There are some doctors who are going to shame you for your weight and others who just won't say it out loud. 😅 It is what it is.

Tbf being fat does affect fertility
@mrsadlower
@mrsadlower 10 ай бұрын
@@strawberryynoodlesauce It very much does. When you are obese, you have an excess of fat; therefore, you have an excess of fat cells. Fat cells produce estrogen. High estrogen levels can affect ovulation, ovarian cysts, endometrial lining overproduction, and uterine polyps. It throws off your hormones. But it's not always the sole reason for infertility. And a doctor should be running tests first in order to determine what needs to happen. Turns out, I had cysts on my ovaries, closed fallopian tubes, and adenomyoma in the lining of my uterus. My weight wasn't going to change my ability to get pregnant.

Genetics is a huge component but can also be helpful. My mother and aunts on both sides of the family are pudgy. Not fat but still overweight. I knew from a young age that my weight was going to be a lifelong struggle if I didn’t want to turn out the same so taught myself to diet when I was young. I have a maximum I allow myself to get (5 lbs overweight on the BMI) and once I reach it I lose 10 lbs then the cycle slowly repeats. The trick is to not let it get so out of hand that you give up. Best of luck to you. You can do it if you want to badly enough. Limiting food intake really sucks for at least the first two weeks but after that your body adjusts and it gets much easier.

We have a body condition scale and we rate them from 1-9 and 4 being the ideal. It’s amazing how many over weight pets are out there. I would estimate that at least 50% if not more are over weight. And when I tell the owner that their cat or dog needs a diet a lot of them get mad lol like hello I’m just trying to keep your pet happy and healthy for as long as I can. I’m pretty sure you don’t want them to die years earlier than they should or get diabetes so then you’ll have to give insulin every day.
