Stereolab, in the first half of the ninties at least, were heavily influenced by this band in particular and Krautrock in general... Droning guitars and organs, and " motorik" beats were thier stock in trade ( listen to "Jenny Ondioline" in particular) before they went on to explore other and varied sounds...

Ja, Hans Lampe...! Mir ist er seit Ende der 70er ein Begriff - durch die Credits auf den fantastischen La Düsseldorf-Alben... war wohl auch schon bei "Neu! '75" dabei... Als Jahrgang '68 habe ich von Neu! erst nach La D. erfahren (Winfried Trenker sei Dank!), aber war ja damals nichts von zu bekommen - selbst im Saturn in Köln (damals DER Platten-Tempel) nicht, wo ich von Bonn aus immer hingepilgert bin - leider wurden Neu! damals ja komplett totgeschwiegen :( Aber sehr schön, dass er Michael Rother unterstützt (und das verdammt gut :) diese zeitlos schöne Musik auch "live" am Leben zu erhalten - egal ob nun als "-lange Gerade(KD)" oder als "~unendliche Kurve(MR)" :) Lass den Motor laufen, Hans!

Ich wollte erst "nur mal reinhören". Jetzt muss ich sagen: Der Herr Lampe bringt das alles neu zum Leben! Da muss noch ein Bass hinein, einer der jeden morgen Basssaiten frühstückt, der richtig lupft, und an manchen Stellen noch ein zweiter Schlagzeuger.

Komisch , daneben hörte ich auch Eno usw. hab auch immer im Sounds die Plattenkritiken gelesen.Conny Plank Platten habe ich viele.Die LADüsseldorfNeu Sachen waren mir "geläufig". Aber gekauft hab ich mir dann doch keine Platte aus der "Neu"Düsseldorf Szene. Ging dann ja auch los mit Der Plan und so. Neubauten. Eben NEUes. Dann erst vor ein paar Jahren die erste NEU entdeckt. Nicht zu spät. Ich höre ja seit den 90ern (ja auch Tanzen) House und Te..no. Das ist ja das Verrückte: dieser Motorik Beat hat die Leute in Chicago, Detroit, New York und London angeturnt und heute ist D DAS H..matland von Te..no. Klar die Deutschen. Nicht nur super Automotoren. Musikmotoren. Schlagzeugmotoriker. Haut rein.
