I just learned today that I didn't receive my Indiana Jones Retro Collection figures because Hasbro unilaterally decided to cancel my order for me, so I could go back in and re-order at a lower price ($11.99). Um... Thank you? What if these items were a hot commodity and sold out? I don't watch every Hasbro email, because they send way too many. I missed this notice and only questioned what was up when I received my pre-order of 'Adventure Series' figures the other day (well after the products had already shown up in stores). What the actual F are they thinking? I'm done with Hasbro.

Hasbro, as a whole, has been doing the exact same thing with their MTG lines -- putting out tone-deaf marketing and PR statements and only responding when the fanbase is in the process of melting down. Something tells me their marketing department has been gutted and these are the only PR reps left in the joint.

I’m excited to at least get Indiana Jones himself, especially the Club Obi Wan version But I must agree they’re definitely for huge fans like me. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing quite a bit of this wave on the clearance shelf’s and sites within three months. Bravo on the whip skills!

When I saw Hasbro announce the Indy range I was excited for two reasons. The first, as an Indy and OT Black Series fan I was excited to see how they would do the line. Secondly, I was looking forward see how they get round Lucas Film's/Disney's aversion to represent anything deemed inappropriate in the modern era, namely...... how are 2023 Hasbro going to do Nazis action figures. Seeing these reveals gives me a clue...... they're not! It looks like they are going to just release as many Indys, allies and none Nazis uniformed antagonists as they can. And you might as well forget seeing those racially questionable Thugee cultists too!

Missed opportunities by Hasbro! I was hoping for a new 4” highly articulated and would include older figures never produced and newer figures from the upcoming movie! I am truly disappointed in the line and l already cancelled the preorders ! ( I was hoping for something better when l first saw them ) ! There is no home for 4” articulation figures at Hasbro. They would rather do 5 point jointed figures and six inch figures only! They cast aside their legacy and their collective population that made Hasbro, Kenner toys successful from day one ! The problem is that Hasbro is no longer making toys for kids. My 5 year old is starving for good toys. He wants the LAAT, He wants classic GI Joe toys from the cartoon, he wants droid fighters, lots and lots of different clone troopers and storm troopers. They are really only making toys for the collectors. This is cutting their future lifeline as all the generations of little kids will have less and less nostalgia and will care less or not at all for collecting. It’s a doom loop plan for them.

Hasbro in general and this livestream in particular deserve every bit of roasting that this video and comments section provide. But I'm still kind of interested in this new 6" line. I don't have any Indy figures in my collection, the vintage Kenner and the 2008 Hasbro lines go for crazy prices now, and based on in-hand reviews I've seen of the first wave of 6" figures, they look good and have genuinely impressive sculpts.

Yeah, that was a pretty underwhelming presentation. I don't understand the fascination with Retro lines. Why would anyone in 2023 want an action figure that was state-of-the-art in 1977? Unless you still possess your action figures from 1977 (I don't) and want to continue that continuity, then maybe. But I can't imagine there being enough people that meet that criteria to support a whole line. Great commentary!

Collecting crap is one thing, I have a Lego collection and I'm not ashamed of it per se, but this is collecting stuff that looks terrible because it's designed to look vintage, and the vintage stuff only looked the way it did because we didn't have the technology yet to not make it look terrible. I can understand buying an indiana jones toy that was pretty much 100% movie accurate, because it'd basically be a posable statue at that point. Fair enough. I can even understand buying the vintage stuff because it had some historic/sentimental value to you personally. What I can't get is buying something that _looks_ like the old stuff. It's not even a toy, it's a replica of a toy. It's a toy version of an actual toy. Why do you have that much money laying around that you can possibly look at it and go "I must possess this!"?
