Setting strict parameters around a collection is a great way from going way overboard in any collection. I love Indiana Jones for the first three films. I couldn't pass on any Last Crusade sets. I wish they would do a tank from the third movie and his horse along with the vehicle carrying soldiers for that whole chase scene. I am planning on getting him and his dad and the plane. I hope at some point they do release another wave which includes the second film. I loved Short Round as a kid and I want him in the collection of top Indy characters.

You’re the first one I thought of when I saw how all the Indys from these sets were directly based on the Indys in the exact scenes they were depicting. Gloves on the Well of Souls Indy, a long tie on the Crusade plane chase Indy, etc.

I am not a lego person myself and don't own any, and the only ones I had were from the late 70s and long gone and very basic legos, but I have to agree that they are doing much better work on Indy than Hasbro has shown in recent years..great video.

By staggering coincidence, I just replayed the _Lego Indy video game_ today. One detail that bothers me about the new sets is that Lego have gone to all the trouble of making all the Indy minifigs individual, but Henry Jones, Sr. is still wearing the pith helmet he had in 2008. In the game, he's got the proper grey tweed bucket hat from the film, so I don't know why they couldn't have tooled that for the new line. Otherwise, it unavoidably makes him look like *Dr. Kilroy* from the old _Lego Adventurers_ line - which, incidentally, was inspired by *Indiana Jones.* 😂 Oh, the circles we draw.

5:05 the band is actually not painted, but the same plastic as the hair! Within the last decade or so lego more and more frequently has made pieces that are dual-molded with two separate colors of plastic. This allows pieces to have greater detail, and of course, unlike paint there's no risk of it being scratched off over time!

If you do purchase the Race for the Stolen Treasure set. You should try and acquire the motorbike and side car from the Motorcycle Chase set, along with two versions of the German figure of that one came with it. The lot would then stand in for the one we see escorting the Ark, before Indy runs it off the road.

If you combine the original 08 indy trousers with the crusade tie torso, you have even more screen accurate indy. The trouser belt is correct for crusade!

Great video! If LEGO ever made a Raiders Indy in the 12 inch buildable technic style, I can only imagine the scrutiny it would receive from you, which would be very entertaining. With an increased scale there would be no excuse for error on the small details.

For me it's the classic Castle sets, circa Black Knights. My first castle Lego set was the Black Knight horse and minifigure micro set with weapons. So, when I saw a creator set with the Black Falcons, I had the blessing to pick up two on clearance just as my Wal-Mart was pulling them from the shelves. And, then there was the minifigure collection that had a knight in the old Cheese Castle livery. And, more recently a figure set that not only came with orks/trolls but a Black Falcon lady falconer, with falcon. My other love is Space in and around the first run of space police. I kinda miss my Futuron sets. Combining those with my uncles vintage Space Legos has an appeal for me. But, I get the reluctance. I don't quite have the shelf/table space for them. And, my focus is largely on wargaming scale figurines for scifi games (specifically BattleTech). So, I can't really justify filling in with 3.5 or 4 inch action figure lines, even though I have a love for those and GI Joe, either. I get more use out of the gaming figures than anything else. Lego Castle is at least compatible with Role-playing to some degree.

I wonder if the reason for why they gave him the leather belt came from old concept art from raiders. If you look up the pictures, Indiana Jones is distinctly wearing 2 leather belt in them. Now, it may not make much sense as to why they would do this as they have the perfect reference material from the movies, but it might just give us the answer for this reason. Idk that's what I think happened. Feel free to discuss

i think thw reasons why the ark and souls were altered out of the set names is because lego has a policy of shying away of things such as alcohol, realistic current militaries and religious stuff. they usually break these rules for whats in some sets but i guess its more obvious in the set name so theyre probably more strict

I really love these sets. I am a collector of lego and other toy lines such as Gi Joe and Kenner Star Wars and I definitely think there can be a balance between collecting legos and other lines but it does get in the way of getting other things since I am more involved in lego than other toy lines. Just to give you my two cents on that.

I have my figure collection and a separate Lego room. With figures I hunt for them and display them, but there's not much else to do. Lego is the toy I can actually spend time with. Plus my kids are Lego obsessed, so it's family time. What I'm saying is you can do both.

I'll admit that my main exposure to Indiana Jones back in the day was the Lego theme: The video game, and the sets. Had the original Well of Souls too, so that was fun. I'll admit, though, I kinda disagree with some of your opinions on the minifigure, but that's partially because of childhood nostalgia. I'll admit to being a bit of a boomer when it comes to the back printing. Spider-Man needed it, so he got it when they made the movie sets, but Batman didn't need it in 2006-2008, so it bothered me when they added it in the 2012 revival. When making purist customs back in the day, turning the arms backwards and hiding the original print with a cape or whatever was really useful, so that lack of flexibility kinda bothered me when they started doing it. Equally so with hair on the hat. In my mind, having the hair disappear when they put on the hat was just part of the Lego style, so having the hair remain is like when people convert Spiderverse footage to 60 FPS in my eye. The original Lego Indy is simple and iconic to me, but it's also a bit of a separate thing from Movie Indy, so take those opinions with a grain of salt. The Lego of today isn't the Lego from when I was a kid, and it's hard to accept sometimes that that fact isn't a bad thing.

The 2008 Indiana jones' fedora was made specifically for him, and later retroactively worked into other generic lego minifigures. It's a case similar to Lego's hood piece they used to use which was based on palpatine's hood while their new one is based off Obi-wan's cloak but looks really odd. The fact everything on the new figure is more detailed save for the legs really confuses me. The weirdest choice to me with the new version of the well of souls is the fact the ark now has the rods built into the ark itself. The original set's ark had removable rods.

As a Lego collector guy who only started dabbling in action figures a couple of years ago (mostly due to 1980s nostalgia for GI Joe and Robotech) I find this pretty amusing. Not only did they add a teardrop shaped crown on Lego Indy’s new fedora, they removed the most iconic characteristic of the Indiana Jones hat: The tight front pinch. The old Indy hat had a tight pinch, the new one has no pinch at all. Sure they added the hair and the colored ribbon, but they inexplicably missed the mark on their attention to detail. Love the new sets tho.

I was fortunate enough to have a clear mind and bought the LEGO 'PERIL IN PERU' airplane set at a TOY R' US back in the day. Usually I go for the Star Wars LEGO sets. I think the only mistake LEGO made with the Temple of Doom canceled set is that they didn't make it a complete circle track for the mining cart.😂

As much as I love Lego land how much I collect it, I personally enjoy the action figure content more because of how good your content is and how unique it is for your channel, just my thoughts. Loved the video, definitely convinced me on getting the Well of Souls
