I felt very sorry for Damon. He did a more than brilliant job, regarding the circumstances at Williams after Imola. It was a shame, they pumped it up to the end, for Schumacher could have been already champion in Jerez, without all the punishments, illegal car or not. The Williams was on equal level.

Looking back at this, I am quite sure Damon Hill would not switch one extra title for health issues Michael is having. Pretty sure Damon enjoys his titles more than Schumacher does now. I am not sure if Schumacher even knows he has all those titles, for what he is now. Pretty much vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, whatever.

I'm happy with the outcome of this. Clearly the best man won that year because Schumacher entered the last round as the championship leader even after being DSQ and/or excluded from 4 or 5 races.

Not exactly, as Hill said himself and as you can see, he saw Schumacher coming from the grass edge near the wall, but he never saw him hitting the wall. He assumed he just had gone wide and had a bad exit, and took advantage thinking Schumacher was going to recover. He had no clue Schumacher had a damaged car, otherwise (again, as he said himself), he would have waited for after the corner.

Als Schumacher supporter wil ik het beeld toch nuanceren. Schumacher reed het gehele seizoen beter dan Hill en door omstandigheden kwam Hill nog in de buurt maar Schumacher verdiende die titel. Daarnaast had Hill geduldiger moeten zijn. Hij nam zelf het risico door aan de binnenkant in te sturen. Als hij nog twee bochten had gewacht dan was Hill wereldkampioen geworden. Schumacher verdient kampioen en ik hoop dat hij aan de 7 titels die hij heeft nog een 8ste gaat toevoegen maar dat wordt lastig

Damon kon niet zien dat Schumacher tegen de muur had gebotst, daarom had ie geen idee dat Schumachers auto beschadigd was en hem later had kunnen inhalen, hij zag alleen maar een even langzame Schumacher, hij nam zijn kans meteen, hij deed wat hij kon met wat hij op dat moment wist.

Schumacher was a brilliant driver and it's very sad what happened to him off the track. But he deliberately takes Hill out to win the title here and the spineless FIA did fuck all about it. One of the great injustices in Formula One for me.

Schumacher will always be the best, dont forget that. If he had a Redbull car Vettel could only wave at him when Schumi past him. Because he thought he would made his come-back in the best team that time, he made a good decision. But non the less Mercedes failed the last few years to gave him something he diserved. I hope he can drive once more like his old days. Something i stayed up for, whole nights, to watch Formula 1. Schumi will always be the best !

Ik had Michael al niet zo hoog zitten, maar dit wist ik niet eens. Dit is nog vele malen erger dan tijdens de kwalificatie in Monaco zijn auto expres de muur in te zetten, zodat Alonso er niet meer langs kon. Of toen (ik weet niet meer welk circuit dat was) dat Barrichello in de laatste ronde op het rechte stuk van zijn gas af ging zodat Michael de eerste plaats kon pakken. Maar dit slaat echt alles. Het is gewoon een hele slechte verliezer.

Don't see where you fit Senna into this - in 89 Senna was to pass Porst on the chicane, but Prost cut him off when they were side by side. In 90, when the decision to move pole to the clean side was reversed, Senna simply kept the throttle down, he even went on the curb, Prost cut from the outside. Senna didn't cut.

Als het niet om het kampioenschap was gegaan zou het worden gezien als een raceongeluk. Ja Schumacher gooit het te hard dicht, maar Damon Hill had ook slimmer na kunnen denken en niet de eerste mogelijk moeten inhalen, want hij wist dat Schumacher hier meer last van had dan een kleine klap (misschien ook een wishbone gebroken of vieze banden). Nee ik vind niet dat Schumacher het zo verdiend, maar hij heeft wel onterechte straffen gehad en hoort dus eigenlijk wel de Kampioen van 1994 te zijn.

Hij maakte een fout, Hill kon profiteren maar Schumacher gooit expres de deur dicht terwijl hij weet dat het niet meer kan omdat hij een beschadiging heeft aan zijn auto. Als dit een plek om de zeventiende plaats was, had Schumacher gewoon aan de kant gegaan. Ik vind het gewoon zielig.

Het is geen eerlijke manier om een titel te winnen, maar Schumacher verdiende de titel gewoon want hij was het hele jaar de beste coureur. Hill kwam nog dichtbij omdat Schumacher een schorsing had gekregen eerder dat jaar.

There's a point at which when you're alongside an opponent that you're considered to have the line in a corner. Hill was not at that point when Schumacher turned in. He hit Schumachers car right about that point but only because Schumacher had already started turning. Hill ran into him, it's clear.

to be honest i think this was just a racing incident, yes Schumacher turned in aggressively on Hill. But Hill also has to take some of the blame as he did not have track position into the corner and probably should have yielded.

Are you kidding ? Why should Schumacher have yielded ? He was still leading, so it was his right to defend his position. You must see that this corner was indeed very small and narrow so that overtaking would have been very difficult, also if Schumacher wouldn't have made an error. Furthermore, Schumacher gained all his points in 12 races, Hill needed 16 ! In the following season, Schumacher stoushed Hill on track.

You clearly see in the video, that Hill saw Schumacher recovering from the hit to the wall. It was just very unclever from Hill forcing it in this corner. Besides the damage from hitting the wall, Schumacher would have had much dirt on his tyres. Overtaking just some corners later would have been mucher safer. To become champion you have to be clever and to a certain point reckless. Schumacher just had the "bad luck" not to die like Senne, so he's always the bad guy...

Inderdaad dat vergeten velen hier denk ik. Hij zag alleen dat hij opeens heel dicht op hem zat, dus wist hij dat Schumacher een fout had gemaakt. Hij wilde van Schumacher zijn fout meteen profiteren natuurlijk. Ik weet zeker dat als hij zag dat Schumacher te muur raakte, hij het rustiger aan zou doen omdat dan de kans groot was dat Schumacher schade had.
