Hi Micheal I listened to this when it first turned up but I was still lost in my mind from the recent trauma of the armed robbery in my home . It had become my entire focus , so addictive . I didn’t want it but I was beginning to use this story to manipulate people to give me the sympathy & validation I thought I needed . It didn’t work thank goodness. My friends have moved away from my trauma dumping crying and constantly retelling my suffering story . Over the last week I have seen what this looking at my emotions feelings and trauma story are doing to my life . Thank you I hear you this time . I have increased my yoga practices and lots of walking on the beach in appreciation to the beautiful landscapes around me a quieter mind and gentler emotions . I am already better then I was a few days ago . On to freedom & peace 🥳✌️😘 love Michelle 🎶 🎵

Huge fan of Michael Singer and have seen first hand the value of loosening fixation on our personal thoughts and feelings. That said, many other more level headed spiritual teachers are cautious making the claim that eternal bliss is offered. The kind of freedom that is offered by awakening doesn't mean a continuous state of ecstacy, rather a discovery of the unchanging view that does not move toward or away from objects of consciousness, and the shift of identity into that very condition.
@michaelhellerslien1602

It's not about a "shift of identity". It's about a letting go of identity.

This is probably my one confusion with his teachings. I have indeed seen what he means about shakti flow and joy in that when I stop feeding the minds tendency to project my ego onto life, I get so much more peace and joy from simply sitting in my backyard.

I’m listening for 45 minutes and every time he gets close to telling us what to do he runs off on another example….is it worth listening to more? Does he ever tell what to do good lord
@seanmclaren8829

He deliberately doesn't teach a technique because identification with a technique can just become another anchor point for the self. That doesn't mean you don't use techniques, but they are like doing scales in music. Singer doesn't say he doesn't use techniques like meditation but that's not his focus here. If you want useful techniques, perhaps check out Joe Dispenza.

Haha I hope you listened for just two more minutes! 46:20 Notice the thought with indifference “oh look there it goes again” then let it go. Relax, don’t engage. Lean back. Let go. Allow everything to be as it is including the thoughts and feelings that want something to be different to how it is. Start small, with tiny irritations then as it becomes a practice and your skill increases you can let go of really painful emotions and disturbing thoughts and more. 53:04

A portion of an AI "mind" analysis the sum of its experiences. Perhaps a portion of a human mind analysis the sum of its experiences. if that is true, then a separate consciousness, soul, spirit, etc., is merely a belief, or just misnamed.

Internally, I am ok. Externally I complain about different things (especially politics) because that is just part of the culture and normal conversation. :) If I'd go out for a cup of coffee with somebody and just say - all is well with the world, I would be deemed weird. I wonder what kind of conversations Michael has with his friends, if they talk about the world problems etc. or just spiritual stuff.

Although his message is very helpful, the entire 45 mins seems to be talking about the negatives of the mind. 10 mins only for the solution.

Mickey, I like you and you have good points, however you sound like you are attached to the listener to "get " what you are saying. it sounds like you're coming through the microphone. I hear you say, "You must GET this." it's funny. Relax, friend, those you will get it, are ready, and those who don't listen over and over, until we ARE ready. like me..... 😄when I can listen to your anxious energy.....and when I can't I go listen to Deepak.😉❤
