Even with an audience he seldom gets the applause he deserves. His repertoire is often unfamiliar and esoteric to most people who want 'Nessun dorma' over and over, and no one really wants to hear a man scream a high E.

Tisztelt művész úr! 50 év alatt rengeteg tenort hallottam. Az ön hangja egészen kivételes. ( 3 oktáv, azaz 4 c-t tud ) A legtöbben csak 2,5 oktávon énekelnek. Én pedig mindössze 2-tőn, de én d tenor vagyok. Szebb lenne, ha d, esz, e vagy f hangból lenne 4; a magas c stabil kiéneklése miatt. Sokat gondolkodtam, hogy milyen szerepek illenek hangjához. Legalkalmasabb a Wagner hőstenor szerepek megformálására! Ha csak ezekkel lépne színpadra, már akkor is szenzációs lenne karrierje! A lírai szerepeket kerülje. Tisztelettel: Bakos Tamás

Yes, bel canto is different in a concert than in actual opera performance, we got to make sure we keep listening Callas teachings about bel canto rules, no other famous artist cares to teach us the importance of the bel canto wich she calls the base of good singing.

I'm afraid there is no video or audio versions of these concerts. In one of his interview Michael told that these concerts would be released on CD by OperaRara, but still there is no any announce. Do you have some alternative info?

@@ladyizolde- No news about the CD. I’m very sad because Michael has just cancelled his next concert in Pesaro (same programme of Firenze) scheduled on august 18th.

​@@tancrediarsace1271 very sad, actually I was going to attend this concert, but knew about his cancellation yesterday on Twitter. Really sad. I hope dear Michael is well and his family too. This repertoire is really made for him. Next February he releases his new baroque album 'Contra tenor' which was recorded in 2019 and will be sing in few baroque concert dedicated to this CD in Germany and France. Pretty good chance. I've listened to him in Idomeneo and Norma in Aix last july and he was outstanding. Baroque is definitely his music as well.
