La voz e interpretación de Spyres son conmovedoras, especialmente en esta aria wagneriana. Una belleza divina. Dr.Fernando Rivas Burattini ✝️🙏👏👏👏💐🇨🇱.

Wagner, I think, 'is not for Spyres'.

Not bad, but got nothing when it comes to O Elsa. Pity, loses out to Vogt, and that is sad....

Just like Klaus Florian Vogt, Lohengrin is within his reach. But Siegfried?
@hcleskov-fischer60337 ай бұрын
Why do you mention Siegfried?

Siegmund
@falkfink7 ай бұрын
Why does it matter? He's singing Lohengrin and Siegmund not Siegfried and Tristan. His voice is very fitting for Lohengrin. Not every tenor approaching the "lighter" wagner roles needs to sound like Lauritz Melchior.

I'm a great admirer of mr.Spyres, but, in spite of him singing this "aria" quite well, I think he's on a dangerous path, singing Wagner. Maybe he shouldn't....

He has such a versatile voice that he legitimately kind of has phases. 2007-2009 was his mid-late romatic phase, did Manon Lescaut, La traviata, Aida, Rigoletto, Salome, and The steerman in the flying dutchman actually. 2015-2016 he sang A Tanto duol 3 times that were filmed, and then never did it again. 2019-2020 was "everything will be french stuff". La nonne sanglante, Benvenuto Cellini, Les Troyans, Le Damnation de faust, Le Postillon, La vestale, grand mass des morts, La favorite...literally the ONLY non french stuff he did in that time was norma and il pirata early in 2019 and a la donna del lago in 2020. And after every phase he always goes back to his standard rossini baritenor/mozart tenor sytle bel canto stuff. I genuinely dont even say it as a bad thing, its why hes done more roles operas than any living tenor save domingo (whos not really a tenor). But yeah, I legitimately think he will try it for a couple years, if hes not successful or doesn't like it hell probably stop and move onto something else. He hasn't done a lyric/lighter true baritone phase yet. Would love to see a Don Giovanni or Figaro(rossini). His excerpts from those were very good. Itd be far more natural for him than a heavy, dramatic role would be lol

@@andrewbloom7694 Very enlightening comment. I have thought it strange that his dark baritone sound has not translated into a more heroic tenor voice. He is certainly ‘sui generis’. I’ve given up trying to figure him out. But I would like to hear the acoustical impression he makes in the house. In his clips and recordings he can sound like Heppner at one moment and Florez the next. And there’s also the curious fact that he is now 45, but I wouldn’t say his celebrity has been wide-spread until the last five years or so. A very puzzling singer in so many ways.

He is an amazing singer but Wagner is a step too far.
@phvangalen43107 ай бұрын
Well, I think the people at Bayreuth think differently about that since Michael Spyres will sing Siegmund over there this summer. 🙂

No, no, no. Vogt has more power. This is sad. Desperate times.
@Yves_Ka7 ай бұрын
yes the power of a castrato - power maybe, but it still is pretty unpleasant to listen to. I would take a beautiful voice (like ariza and Winbergh or Spyres any day over 'powerful but ugly voice'

Vogt power? Since when? Basically, he sounds like the grownup choirboy he is.

@@doGreatartistsgrowontrees Did you ever hear him live? I did. Recordings don't capture projection.
@falkfink7 ай бұрын
@@doGreatartistsgrowontreesliterally everyone who has ever seen hin live says his voice carries like crazy. I'm not a fan of him at all (though I think his Stolzing and Lohengrin are solid), but saying that his voice is small does not do him justice.

@@falkfinki heard his lohengrin live, the voice did not carry, he can’t act at all, and he was messing up text everywhere. he sounds and acts precisely like a grown up choir boy with a fake dark vowels to imitate a helden timbre when he wants. it was a very disappointing evening, yet houses are desperate to sell tickets so push him as a new wagnerian star and audiences are too dumb to know what they are hearing.
