Chris davis is actually a good baseball player tho, he gets lots of hate to the point he is a punch line even though he was a top 10 home run slugger of the 2010s. Plus chris davis is still has good bat velocity and power its just he has always been a strike out machine and when he hits the ball it ends up being caught by the outfielders or grabbed up by the shift he is just unlucky where the ball ends up.
@daltonfarris4 жыл бұрын
@Kelltron what I'm saying is that he has been unlucky where the ball has been going he still has above average league average bat speed. I believe he is still an above average hitter but his stats make him look like he fell off a cliff when in fact he has just been getting unlucky.

A lot of that has to do with batters who are good at hitting crap pitches and swing at everything will get off to explosive starts until enough data is gathered about their swing habits and pitchers start throwing the pitches they're weak against. His OPS+ tells the story: he got off to a hot start until pitchers started picking him apart, then he slowed down until we got to where we are now. He had an OPS+ in 2019 of 100. He also had a wRC+ of 101. Also pretty close to, if not embodying, average. He also put up a net negative defensive effort in 2019 according to both Fangraphs and Baseball Reference. I sincerely hope he comes back having retooled himself because I've really come around on him. He's a fun player to watch because he's the Anti-Rendon. Everything is fully dramatic with him and it's fun
